摘要: New slope electrophoresis method and apparatus for performing electrophoresis as a biochemical analysis tool is disclosed. Slope electrophoresis combines the advantages of vertical electrophoresis and horizontal electrophoresis. The angle of slope electrophoresis to the bottom side is between horizontal electrophoresis (0 degree) and vertical electrophoresis (90 degree). The most prefer angle of slope of electrophoresis is between 75 degree to 88 degree. Slope electrophoresis is also used for two-dimensional electrophoresis.

摘要: The invention relates to a process for the production of a peroxodisulfate, such as ammonium-, sodium- and potassium peroxodisulfate by anodic oxidation of an electrolyte containing a sulfate and/or hydrogen sulfate. The disadvantages of the conventional platinum anodes used for this hitherto can be avoided by using as the anode a diamond film mounted on a conductive carrier and made conductive by doping with a tri- or pentavalent element and by not adding a promoter to the anolyte.

摘要: A thermostat control system, that can be configured to include an array of two or more capillary columns or two or more channels in a microfabricated device, is disclosed. A thermally conductive material is in contact with each column or channel in the array. One or more independently controlled heating or cooling elements is positioned adjacent to or within the thermally conductive material, each heating or cooling element being connected to a source of heating or cooling. One or more independently controlled temperature sensing elements and one or more independently controlled temperature probes are also positioned adjacent to or within the thermally conductive material. Each temperature sensing element is connected to a temperature controller, and each temperature probe is connected to a thermometer. When the system is in use, each source of heating or cooling is automatically regulated by the temperature controller in response to feedback from one or more of the temperature sensing elements so as to control temperature stability to within a specified range, and the temperature controller is automatically regulated in response to feedback from one or more of the temperature probes to the thermometer so as to maintain the reference temperature of the thermally conductive material within a specified range of a pre-set target temperature.

摘要: A method and apparatus for generating tunable, uniform electric fields in fluidic applications for rapid separation of molecules, such as DNA, is provided. A region receives the molecules to be separated, the molecules being injected into the region by an injection channel connected thereto. Fluidic microchannels or resistor arrays connected to sides of the region inject currents into the region and produce electric fields in the region that can be oriented at any angle. The electric fields can separate the molecules according to size, and can be used to move or manipulate the molecules within the region. Further, the molecules can be separated by controlling fluid flows within the region to manipulate the molecules. One or more reservoirs can be attached to the fluidic microchannels for collecting the molecules after separation, movement, or manipulation.
