A composition is provided for a non-aqueous foaming aerosol cleaner or lubricant. Foam builders, especially silicone glycol copolymers, are used to generate high density foam of the solvent-based formula. A cleaning product variant may be introduced via an air intake route for loosening deposits in an internal combustion engine. The high foam aerosol product dispenses easily without causing engine stalling. A process of lubricating a target substrate is also provided.

The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods for the removal of deposits from oilfield apparatus and wellbore surfaces. In particular, removal of deposits comprising heavy hydrocarbon materials and finely divided inorganic solids. The composition includes a mixture of a corrosion inhibitor component which is morpholine or a morpholine derivative having corrosion inhibitor properties, and a surfactant which is a quaternary ammonium compound having biocidal properties. Methods of removing a deposit from a surface or unplugging an oilwell which has been plugged with a deposit, are also included wherein the method comprising contacting the deposit with a composition as disclosed herein for a selected period of time.

An alkaline aqueous cleaning composition for cleaning a substrate, e.g., a plastic or metal substrate, contaminated with industrial-type soil contaminants contains (i) an aqueous portion and (ii) an active-ingredient portion composed of (A) an alkalinity-providing agent and (B) a surfactant mixture containing (a) an active concentration of an N-octyl-2-pyrrolidone surfactant and (b) an active concentration of at least one aminocarboxylic acid surfactant. The active-concentration ratio of surfactant (a) to surfactant (b) is such as to provide the cleaning composition with the ability to remove a substantial portion of the contaminants from the substrate. At an active-concentration ratio of surfactant (a) to surfactant (b) of about 2.5:1, the surfactants have a synergistic effect on the industrial-soil-removing ability of the aqueous composition. Cleaning of the substrate with the aqueous cleaning composition involves contacting the substrate with the composition for a period of time sufficient to remove at least a substantial portion of the contaminants from the substrate.

Rinse-added fabric softening compositions are provided comprising mixtures of a substituted imidazoline fabric softener material and a highly ethoxylated hydrophobic material as a scum dispersant to prevent the formation of scum by interaction of the substituted imidazoline fabric softener material with anionic detergent surfactant and/or phosphate detergency builder entrapped in the fabric, and a liquid carrier. These, preferably biodegradable, compositions have good product stability, dispersibility, and concentratability, as well as excellent fabric softening characteristics.
