Certain tris-amino-s-triazines are waxy constituents for use in floor care compositions, particularly floor waxes, particularly in organic solutions or aqueous emulsions.
Abstract:
Friable compositions suitable for use as extrusion aids in polymeric extrusion formulations are prepared by a process which comprises mixing a paraffinic hydrocarbon wax and calcium salt of a fatty acid while heating to a temperature of at least 150*C and thereafter cooling to recover a solid, glass-like, friable composition, said paraffinic hydrocarbon wax having a drop melting point of at least 110*F, an oil content of not greater than 50 percent by weight and a needle penetration value at 77*F in the range of 1 mm to 20 mm, and said fatty acid being a C16C24 aliphatic hydrocarbon monocarboxylic acid or mixtures thereof.
Abstract:
There is claimed a mixture consisting essentially of (1) 45 to 99.5 percent by weight of a hydroxyl endblocked polydimethylsiloxane having a viscosity in the range of 10 to 15,000 cs. at 25*C., (2) 0.3 to 35 percent by weight of a silane having the formula (RO)3SiR''NHR'''' or (RO)3SiR''NHCH2CH2NH2 wherein R is an alkyl radical containing from one to four carbon atoms, R'' is a divalent hydrocarbon radical free of aliphatic unsaturation and contains from three to four carbon atoms, and R'''' is a hydrogen atom or a methyl radical, and (3) 0.2 to 25 percent by weight of a silane having the general formula X3SiZ wherein X is an alkoxy or acyloxy radical containing from one to four carbon atoms and Z is a nonhydrolyzable hydrocarbon or halohydrocarbon radical or a nonhydrolyzable radical composed of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen atoms wherein the oxygen atoms are present in hydroxyl groups, ester groups or ether linkages, there being from one to 10 carbon atoms in the Z radical. This composition is incorporated in polishes, particularly wax containing polishes such as furniture and floor polishes, whereby detergent resistance and easy rub-out are obtained.

Abstract:
Novel pattern wax compositions for use in investment casting by the Lost Wax Process are disclosed. The pattern wax composition materials contain base waxes such as petroleum waxes, natural vegetable or mineral waxes, synthetic waxes and various resinous materials derived from the refining of petroleum and wood rosin, and mixtures of the above and solid filler particles. The base wax generally has a melting point of between about 120* to 180* F. The solid filler particles are imides of aromatic polycarboxylic acids.
Abstract:
Spheroidal aggregates of highly absorbent, low bulk density, readily soluble, high surface area, hydrated, amorphous alkali metal silicate are provided by contacting discrete alkali metal silicate particles with an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide, absorbing the peroxide into the alkali metal silicate hydrated structure and heating the silicate to destroy substantially all of the hydrogen peroxide.

Abstract:
A high-sensitivity, high-resolving power inspection penetrant developer in which the active developing ingredient is a waxy substance which is a solid or near-solid at room temperature, but which becomes fluid at slightly elevated temperatures. The waxy developer material may be dissolved in a suitable carrier liquid such as water or other inert volatile solvent, and is deposited on test parts by dipping, brushing or spraying, and allowing the carrier liquid to evaporate. When heat is applied to the test parts, during oven drying or by heating subsequent to air-drying, the waxy developer layer becomes a fluid, and a ''''liquid-film dilution-expansion'''' type development of penetrant entrapments in surface defects then takes place. When the test parts cool to room temperature, the fluid waxy layer, which now contains developed defect indications, solidifies and prevents excessive bleeding and migration of the indications.
