摘要: A metal boride aerogel includes a three-dimensional aerogel structure comprising metal boride particles having an average diameter of less than one micron. A method is disclosed for forming a metal boride aerogel including dispersing boron nanoparticles in a solution of a metal salt, forming a boron-loaded metal oxide precursor gel using the dispersed boron nanoparticles in the solution of the metal salt, drying the boron-loaded metal oxide precursor gel to form a boron-loaded metal oxide precursor aerogel, and heating the boron-loaded metal oxide precursor aerogel to form a metal boride aerogel. The metal boride aerogel is essentially free of metal oxide.

摘要: A method of forming cemented tungsten tetraboride, by combining tungsten and boron in a molar ratio of from about 1:6 to about 1:12, respectively, and firing the combined tungsten and boron in a hexagonal boron nitride crucible at a temperature of from about 1600 C to about 2000 C, to form tungsten tetraboride, milling the tungsten tetraboride to a powder, adding a metal binder to the tungsten tetraboride powder to produce a metal-tungsten tetraboride mixture, compressing the metal-tungsten tetraboride mixture, and sintering the compressed metal-tungsten tetraboride mixture to form cemented tungsten tetraboride.

摘要: Tin containing precursors and methods of forming tin-containing thin films are described. The tin precursor has a tin-diazadiene bond and is homoleptic or heteroleptic. A suitable reactant is used to provide one of a metallic tin film or a film comprising one or more of an oxide, nitride, carbide, boride and/or silicide. Methods of forming ternary materials comprising tin with two or more of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, boron, silicon, titanium, ruthenium and/or tungsten are also described.

摘要: A method for producing a metal boride powder includes producing a boriding gas stream from a first powder in a first fluidizing bed reactor, delivering the boriding gas stream to a second fluidized bed reactor through a conduit fluidly connecting the first and second fluidized bed reactors, fluidizing a second powder in the second fluidized bed reactor, mixing the second powder with the boriding gas stream such that a metal boride or boron-doped powder is formed.
