摘要： A tape dispenser having a novel display ability. The tape dispenser of the present invention may be of a common size, shape and construction typically associated with dispensers for dispensing adhesive cellulose tapes, or may be of alternate shape. The body of the dispenser may be made of plastic or other materials and may be transparent, translucent or opaque. At least one rotatable display component, such as a wheel, is preferably located between the tape roll and an inside wall of the dispenser body. One or more graphics, such as images, wording or both, are located on the rotatable display component. The rotatable display component may be rotated, either independently or in conjunction with rotation of the tape roll, such that the graphic or graphics will periodically appear through the body of the dispenser or through an aperture or other opening located therein. One or more fixed graphics may also be affixed to the body of the dispenser. The fixed graphics may convey an independent message, or may work in conjunction with one or more graphics located on the rotatable display component to form a composite image or phrase, for example. The rotatable display components and fixed graphics may be located on various sides of the dispenser body and in various combinations.

摘要： The invention is an apparatus for converting sheets of paper into cushioning dunnage. The apparatus includes a supply assembly, a conversion mechanism, a cutting assembly and a cutting assembly interlock device. The supply assembly supports the paper which is to be converted. The conversion assembly crumples single ply paper into cushioning dunnage and the cutting assembly cuts the newly formed dunnage into desired lengths, where the dunnage is allowed to fall into a container to cushion an item within the container. The cutting assembly interlock device permits activation of the cutting assembly only when the cutting assembly has fully moved into the proper, cutting position.

摘要： A rotary beam has mounted thereon a pair of carrier arms for rotatably supporting a roll of web from which the web is fed into the press, and another such arm pair for supporting another such web roll to which the web is to be spliced upon consumption of the first web roll. One of each pair of carrier arms has rotatably mounted thereto a hollow spindle to be partly inserted in the tubular core of the web roll. The hollow spindle has detents arranged at circumferential spacings thereon for fluid pressure actuation into frictional engagement with the inside surface of the web roll core. The other of each carrier arm pair has a second spindle rotatably mounted thereto which is to be held endwise against the web roll core via a spring-loaded end cap. How hard the web roll core is urged against the first spindle by the second spindle, resisting the unwinding of the web therefrom, depends upon whether the second spindle is held fast against the end cap or spaced therefrom by the spring. The second spindle is sprung away from the end cap upon decrease of the web roll diameter to a predefined limit, in order to mitigate tension on the web being paid out.

摘要： A rollerless device is disclosed for supporting a roll of material, such as toilet paper, within a recess within a wall, for example. The device comprises a shell having a semi-cylindrical cavity for receiving the roll and rotatable pegs mounted at opposite ends of the shell. Each peg includes a hub which is rotatable relative to a base secured to the shell at approximately the midpoint of the shell. Each base and hub includes cooperating members for limiting the movement of the hub from a first position in which the core of the roll is rotatably mounted in the center of the cylindrical cavity, and a second position in which the core can be removed or a new roll inserted into the cavity. The second position is such that when the pegs are not constrained, they will fall under the influence of gravity to the first or roll supporting position.

摘要： At least two pairs of carrier arms are mounted to a rotary shaft for independent travel axially thereof while being constrained to joint rotation therewith. Each pair of carrier arms are disposed opposite each other axially of the shaft for rotatably holding one web roll therebetween via expansion chucks. An internally screw-threaded sleeve is rotatably mounted to each carrier arm and locked against axial displacement relative to the carrier arm. Rotatably supported on the shaft and extending parallel to its axis, a screw-threaded rod extends through, and is threadedly engaged with, the sleeves on each pair of carrier arms. A reversible electric motor is drivingly coupled to each threaded nut, and an additional similar motor to each threaded rod. Each pair of carrier arms are therefore not only independently movable toward and away from each other, as for chucking a web roll therebetween, but, together with the chucked web roll, jointly movable in either axial direction of the shaft for accurately positioning the web roll thereon.
