A workpiece support is operably connected to the first and second control shafts. The workpiece support is shaped to support a workpiece during transfer. Rotation of the first control shaft shifts the workpiece support in a first direction, and rotation of the second control shaft shifts the workpiece support in a second direction. A lead screw is disposed parallel to the control shaft, and shifts the workpiece support along the lead screw upon rotation of the same.

    摘要: A transporter suitable for conveying ferro-magnetic materials [3] out of progressive-line transfer dies during stamping and other similar processes. This device does not utilize an inline synchronous or induction motor. In order to move the ferro-magnetic material out of said dies, the transporting system has coils wrapped around the core [1] (primary) insulated in their slots, said coils wrapped in a plane located at 90 degrees to the transfer plane so as to maintain one polarity along the transfer direction at any given time. To achieve continuous movement of the ferro-magnetic material [3] in the plane of transport, the current applied to the system is sequentially switched from coil [2] to coil using a mini programmable logic controller, or similar device. As this current is switched, the ferro-magnetic material behaves as a secondary, therefore applying motive force on the material in the transfer plane.

    摘要: A beltless magnetic conveyor assembly including a housing defining a longitudinal length of the conveyor and a magnetic rack assembly moveably supported in the housing. The magnetic rack assembly includes a plurality of magnet assemblies supported at spaced intervals relative to one another along the longitudinal length of the conveyor. The beltless magnetic conveyor assembly also includes a drive system which is operable to index the magnetic rack assembly between a home position proximate to one end of the housing and an end position which is proximate to an opposite end of the housing over the same path. The magnet assemblies are operable to generate a magnetic force which acts to attract ferromagnetic material toward the housing and to move the ferromagnetic material in the direction of the longitudinal length of the conveyor when the magnet rack assembly is indexed in one direction. However, the magnet assemblies are also operable to change the force such that ferromagnetic materials are not moved in the direction of the longitudinal length of the conveyor when the magnet rack assembly is indexed in the opposite direction over the same path.

    摘要: A magnetic drive system for moving a substrate transfer shuttle along a linear path between chambers in a semiconductor fabrication apparatus. A rack with rack magnets is secured to the shuttle, and a rotatable pinion with pinion magnets is positioned adjacent the rack so that the pinion magnets can magnetically engage the rack magnets. Thus, rotation of the pinion will cause the shuttle to move along the linear path. The magnets may be oriented with a helix angle between their primary axis and the axis of rotation of the pinion. One rack and one pinion are located on each side of the shuttle. A set of lower guide rollers supports the shuttle, and a set of upper guide rollers prevents the shuttle from lifting off the lower guide rollers.
