摘要： The invention is a handheld device for storing and dispensing a portion of a food product, such as a stick of butter, easily and evenly onto a hot pan, grill, toast, sandwiches, vegetables, or any hot or cold item. The invention has a housing with an internal cavity into which the food product may be placed, with a piston which is used to advance the food product toward an outflow end of the housing. An end cap may be placed over the outflow end of the housing, trapping the food product within the housing in a cavity between the cap and the piston, keeping the food product fresh between uses. The sides of the tubular housing are flexible, allowing the piston to be held within the housing at a desired location.

摘要： Recloseable flexible packages are provided including a package body formed from a flexible film having a longitudinal seam along a back panel of the package body, a line of weakness extending around a portion of the package body to define a removable portion of the package body, and a flexible sealing label disposed over and extending beyond the removable potion of the package body. The tine of weakness extends substantially around the package body from the back panel between the longitudinal seam and a first longitudinal side and around to the back panel where it terminates between the second longitudinal side and the longitudinal seam. The recloseable flexible package is opened by pulling the flexible sealing label to form a transverse opening in the package body and then reclosed by wrapping the flexible sealing label back around the package body.

摘要： A package for an individual service portion of a spreadable product, such as a butter pat or the like, has two opposed edges on each of the base and cover folded into a channel shape and the respective channel sides of the base and cover are positioned in overlapping abutting contact with two opposed sides of the pat to thereby encase the pat in an open-ended, generally rectangularly-shaped tubular member. Alternative structures include forming the cover from a "deadfold" foil and tamping the ends against the ends of the pat and the bottom of the base channel member to form a completely enclosed package without sealing. Also alternatively, the sides of the bottom channel may extend the full height of the pat and the top cover may be a flat sheet or may be channel-shaped perpendicular to that of the base member so as to abut the ends of the pat and form a package essentially completely enclosing the pat. Where the ends of the cover are abutted against the pat and bottom of the base channel they may be peelably glued to the base to sealingly enclose the pat. Opening means are provided to enable the sealed top to be grasped for removal.

摘要： Apparatus and method for making sealed packages for spreadable products includes means for transporting a relatively stiff base member carrying a spreadable product in the approximate center thereof, means for feeding a relatively thin flexible sheet material and for cutting such flexible material into predetermined lengths and for feeding such cut lengths to a rotatable vacuum drum having a plurality of die stations. There is a first tamper which cooperates with the die at the die station as the stations rotate past the tamper to shape each cut length of flexible material into a predetermined three-dimensional form. The three-dimensional form is transported by the vacuum drum to a position over the stiff base and the spreadable product thereon where the formed flexible sheet is released by the vacuum drum and cohesively joined along its outwardly extended edges to the base member to enclose the spreadable product positioned thereon. The longitudinally extending edges of the flexible sheet and base member are further pressed into cohesive engagement by a roller assembly which contains resiliently mounted blades which further compresses the leading and trailing edges into cohesive engagement. A final tamper then tamps the pleats shut. The spreadable product being packaged may also be shaped and sized by the tamper.The top sheet is attached to the base member so that it can be peeled by the package user from the base member by pulling a peel tab to expose the product.

摘要： A container is formed of a generally bowl-shaped receptacle which is open at the top. The bottom of the receptacle is provided with a depending shoulder having a recess in the inner surface thereof.
