摘要: The invention relates to a process for the irreversible application of a marking invisible to the naked eye to a polymer moulding with the aid of laser radiation. The invention also relates to polymer compositions suitable for this purpose and to invisibly markable and marked mouldings that are entirely or partly made of the polymer composition. Invisible markings are for example useful for security purposes, for example to prevent unauthorized copying. The moulding is entirely or partly made of a polymer composition containing a polymer and a compound (I), which compound through laser radiation can be irreversibly converted into a compound (II) that yields a visible contrast in the polymer composition only when irradiated with electromagnetic radiation at a wavelength outside the visible range of 400 to 700 nm.

摘要: A covercoated transfer sheet for transferring images to a ceramic substrate. The covercoated transfer sheet contains a flat, flexible substrate and a transferable covercoat releaseably bound to the flat, flexible substrate. When the transferable covercoat is printed with an image to form an imaged covercoat, the image has a higher adhesion to the covercoat than the covercoat has to the flexible substrate. The imaged covercoat has an elongation to break of at least about 1 percent, and it can be separated from the flexible substrate with a peel force of less than about 30 grams per centimeter.

摘要: A printing press comprises an oscillating roller capable of rotating circumferentially and moving axially in a reciprocating manner, and does rainbow printing on a sheet, supplied from a feeder, in a printing unit. The printing press includes an oscillation width control device and an oscillation frequency control device for exercising control such that the oscillating roller moves axially in a reciprocating manner when printing is started in a state in which the axially moving motion of the oscillating roller is at a standstill. The printing press can automatically start the oscillating motion of the ink oscillating roller when printing is started from the state of the oscillating motion of the oscillating roller being stopped at the time of ink conditioning in rainbow printing, thereby decreasing the number of defective sheets and improving the ease of operation.

摘要: A method and device for controlling a transfer of an ink having electrorheological properties between rolls in a printing press. The method includes electrically connecting a first electrode to a first roll, electrically connecting a second electrode to a second roll, and circumscribing each of the first and second rolls with an electrically conductive layer. The method also includes establishing a rotational movement between the first and second rolls so as to enable a transfer of the ink from the first roll to the second roll across a first nip, and applying a voltage across the first and second electrodes so as to create a first electric field at the first nip. In addition, a printing unit including a first roll and a second roll configured to enable a transfer of an ink having rheological properties from the first roll to the second roll across a nip, the first and second rolls each having an electrically conductive layer circumscribed around them. A first voltage source is electrically connected to a first electrode that is electrically connected to the first roll and a second electrode is electrically connected to a second electrode that is electrically connected to the second roll for applying an electrical field at the nip.

摘要: The stamp (10) for use in a lithographic process, such as patterning a surface layer, of the invention has a stamp body (1) with a first (11) and a second side (12), at which first side (11) a printing face (2) is present and at which second side (12) a stack of a carrier body (4) and a reservoir (3) for liquid are present. The carrier body contains channels (5) in order that the liquid can be transported from the reservoir (3) to the stamp body (1) and further to the printing face (2). The stamp may be embodied as a cylinder, allowing a continuous lithographic printing process. This process results in patterns on a micron or submicron scale. The stamp (10) may furthermore be included in a larger apparatus.
