摘要: A method for printing on a substrate is disclosed. In an embodiment of the method, the method includes printing a small print control mark of a printed color in a print zone of the substrate and printing a large print control mark of the printed color in the print zone of the substrate. A measurement value of the small print control mark and a measurement value of the large print control mark is detected by a sensor. A deviation between the measurement value of the small print control mark and the measurement value of the large print control mark is determined and an actual value of a print parameter of the printed color is corrected based on the deviation.

摘要: To perform a method for identifying color measuring strips having measuring areas on printed products, the color measuring strips are scanned with a color measuring instrument. The measured color values acquired by the color measuring instrument are stored in a computer and that the measured color values acquired are each assigned to a printing ink. A sequence formed in this way of printing inks is stored in the computer and then compared with color measuring strip types stored in the computer. The stored color measuring strip type having the greatest probability is then selected.

摘要: A color measurement device includes an error detection function for color printing control. The color measurement device includes an optical measurement head, the optical measurement head being moveable linearly along a color bar region of a printing sheet, and being configured for making color measurements with respect to the color bar, and for detecting color measurement errors by determining whether such color measurements are being made at least in part with respect to regions of the printing sheet other than the color bar region. The optical measurement head may further include a pixel array for tracking a center trajectory of the color bar for purposes of detecting the color measurement errors, and a color measurement engine for purposes of making the color measurements with respect to the color bar. The color measurement device may further include a motion control element and a mechanical track to guide the optical measurement head along the color bar region.

摘要: A method for evaluating an image of a predetermined extract of a printed product makes corrections to a white reference to account for spatial variations and changes of illumination intensity over time. Intensity signals recorded from first predetermined areas within the extract are combined arithmetically with reference data values that represent a measure of the intensity of the light reflection from unprinted regions of the printed product. At the start, an image of a white reference is recorded and basic reference data for the entire extract are derived from the intensity signals of this image. During each evaluation of an image of the predetermined extract, correction data are derived from intensity signals recorded from second predetermined areas within the extract. Before the intensity signals recorded from the first predetermined areas within the predetermined extract are arithmetically combined with the reference data, the latter are determined by means of an arithmetic combination of the basic reference data with the correction data.

摘要: A reading time setting section (44) determines a read area for an imaging section (25) on the basis of color chart positional data (id). The imaging section (25) reads an image on printing paper during the reading time and readout image data (rd) is stored in an image data storage section (45). A reference mark detecting section (46) detects the positions of reference marks from the readout image data (rd). A color chart actual position calculation section (47) corrects a tilt of a color chart determined from the positions of the reference marks and calculates an actual position of each of color chart fields (cr). An image data readout section (48) reads out image data on a color chart field corresponding to the calculated actual position. At the same time, image data on a white color field immediately above the color chart field is also read out. A white color correction section (49) produces a white reference on the basis of the image data on the white color field and corrects the image data on the color chart field. A color chart information determination section (50) measures color chart information, such as a color density and a dot percentage, about each of the color chart fields. This printing press determines a reading time on the basis of the position of the color chart at the time of printing plate recording and thereby allows imaging of an area including the color chart on the printing paper being transported.

摘要: A system for the accurate measurement and control of image color density on an operating printing press. The method and apparatus control the printing of a multicolored image by controlling the amount of each of the inks used to print an image based on the color densities of each of the inks detected in printed images. The process includes controlling the positioning and linear movement of a strobe and a digital video camera across a substrate having images printed thereon; illuminating the images with a strobe; selecting and acquiring the images via a digital video camera and producing a digitized representation thereof; selecting a portion of the images; measuring and analyzing the color intensity of the selected portion of the images and producing reflective density values thereof, and storing said reflective density values in a first memory; comparing the reflective density values for the portion of the images to standard density values in a second memory for the portion of the images.

摘要: A method for controlling color on press during printing utilizing spectral measurements is disclosed. When a color-difference is exceeded the measured spectral reflectance values of a test area are compared with the corresponding target reflectance values from which a spectral reflectance difference is established. A linear equation is used to relate the spectral reflectance difference to solid ink density or ink layer thickness differences for ink regulation utilizing an on-line empirically established correction matrix such that the spectral reflectance difference is minimized. The control method is applicable to both process and non-process colors.
