Abstract:
An image reading device includes: a sensor module having a light source and a plurality of sensors; a white reference plate; and an image processor that generates correction data to be used for shading correction and performs the shading correction on image signals, using the correction data. The light source is configured to switch between at least a first luminous intensity and a second luminous intensity lower than the first luminous intensity. The image processor acquires intermediate data by causing the plurality of sensors to acquire an image signal of the white reference plate illuminated with the second luminous intensity, generates black correction data, based on the intermediate data, and performs the shading correction, using the black correction data, so that a density unevenness, in an image, caused by interference between image signals from the plurality of sensors.

Abstract:
Provided are a print control apparatus and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a color calibration control program. A print control apparatus includes an information storage processing section which stores measured color values into a database which stores history information of color measurement, where the measured color values are obtained by measuring colors in a color chart by using a printing device. The print control apparatus further includes a color defining section which defines a specific color by referring to the database, and a color calibration controlling section which, while the printing device is processing a print job, causes the printing device to measure the specific color, determines whether to calibrate the printing device on the basis of a change with time in the measured color value of the specific color, and calibrates the printing device according to the determination result.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes a reading circuit, a white reference member, a control circuit, a memory circuit, and a processing circuit. The control circuit controls the reading circuit to: cause a light source to irradiate the white reference member with lights of a plurality of colors and cause a light receiving unit to receive the reflected lights. The processing circuit performs a process to identify abnormal data included in white reference data stored in the memory circuit. The processing circuit identifies information on the abnormal data in a light of an abnormal-data detected color among the plurality of colors. The processing circuit identifies the abnormal data in lights of other colors excluding the abnormal-data detected color among the plurality of colors based on the information on the abnormal data. The information is identified for the light of the abnormal-data detected color.

There is provided an image forming apparatus that performs gradation correction, including a pattern forming unit that forms, on an image carrier, rows of area coverage modulation patterns having patterns of different gradation values in steps by area coverage modulation method; a toner adhering amount detecting unit that measures toner adhering amount of each pattern of the rows of area coverage modulation patterns formed by the pattern forming unit, the gradation correction being performed based on a detection result of the toner adhering amount detecting unit; and a pattern type selecting unit that selects a single pattern type formed on the image carrier from a plurality of pattern types, when carrying out gradation correction control by forming the rows of the area coverage modulation.
Abstract:
A method for adjusting color tones of an input digital image file to create an adjusted digital image file. A plurality of predetermined curves are provided, each curve specifying an adjusted color tone percentage output as a function of input color tone percentage and representing a combination of midpoint magnitude and contrast different than for any other curve. The method comprises selecting a curve by determining which one of the plurality of curves most closely matches at least two data points. The selected curve is then applied to the input digital image file to produce the adjusted digital image file.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus may include an image carrier for carrying a toner image and a correcting toner image, a detection sensor for detecting density information of the correcting toner image; and a controller for causing the image forming unit to correct an image forming condition based on the density information detected by the detection unit to execute a stabilization control. The image forming unit may form a plurality of correcting toner images different in density over plural non-image areas. The controller may determine which mode is set between a processing speed priority mode and an image quality priority mode. The image forming unit may continuously form correcting toner images on the image carrier in a different manner depending on the mode. The detection sensor may detect density information of the correcting toner images. The image forming unit may finish a processing operation in the stabilization control under execution.
Abstract:
A multi-function printer and a method for calibrating the multi-function printer is disclosed The calibrating method for a printer comprises printing a calibration pattern on a medium by the printer; obtaining a scanned image of the calibration pattern on the medium printed by the printer; comparing the scanned image against the calibration pattern; detecting defects of the scanned image; and if the defects exceed an pre-determined value, adjusting print settings of the printer according to the defects of the scanned image.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are described for halftone independent temporal color drift correction, particularly for correction in hi-addressability xerographic printers. For example, a method includes printing target patches, including two resolutions, measuring printer response from the target patches, and modeling the printer using a transformation to define a correction factor, and a predicted response.
