    摘要: A method for manufacturing a vehicle structure member by using a hollow extruded material that has a pair of side plates and a plurality of connecting plates connecting the side plates together and that has a quadrilateral closed section and a longitudinal shape, such that a width dimension of the vehicle structure member, which is a distance between the side plates, varies in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle structure member, the method including: an extrusion molding step of producing the hollow extruded material with the connecting plates each having a bent shape by extrusion molding; and a widening step of increasing the width dimension by increasing the distance between the side plates partially in the longitudinal direction so as to flatten the connecting plates having the bent shape.

    摘要: A device and a method for widening elongated metal elements which move in the longitudinal direction and are planar at least in certain regions are described. The device comprises at least two clamping sections which are opposite one another and of which one is arranged and designed for clamping a first longitudinal side of the metal element in place and the other is arranged and designed for clamping a second longitudinal side of the metal element in place, said second longitudinal side being opposite the first longitudinal side of the metal element. The clamping sections are each provided on a support unit by means of which the clamping sections, during the forward movement of the metal element, are automatically moved apart essentially perpendicularly to the direction of movement of the metal element.

    摘要: In an expanded mesh of this invention, a latitude skeletal element composing a mesh has a length which is substantially not elongated from a state of a sheet-shaped material. For this reason, the expanded mesh is not bulged like a barrel. Namely, it is flat. Since a longitudinal skeletal element is inclined acutely relative to straight portions as compared with a conventional expanded mesh, the expanded mesh will become a grid with good current collecting efficiency when a lug of current collector plate is formed on an inclining direction side.

    摘要: In a method of correcting a distorted pipe end to an original substantially true circular cross-section, external loads are applied to the outer peripheral surface of the pipe adjacent to the end thereof to forcibly deform the pipe end to the substantially true circular cross-section. The external loads are maintained to keep this substantially true circular cross-sectional shape while an internal pressure is applied to the inner peripheral surface of the pipe end until a circumferential stress produced in the pipe reaches an amount which exceeds the yield stress of the pipe to give a radial permanent deformation to the pipe for thereby producing a circumferentially uniformly distributed residual stress in the pipe.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method of producing an expanded metal product wherein the metal sections are stretched instead of being bent so as to achieve the expanding process. The method is characterised by forming a series of parallel rows of slots each of identical size and each having curved ends, the slots of alternate rows being staggered and overlapping so as to form a series of longitudinally extending stretchable portions, the metal edges being clamped and then moved apart in a transverse direction so as to strain the stretchable portions beyond their yield point and to incline them to the longitudinal direction.
