    摘要: A circular rotating body having a plurality of fan-shaped blocks is disposed inside a casing and driven to rotate. A gas absorption/releasing material in the blocks absorbs/releases a specific gas component from a gas mixture depending on temperature. The rotating body has a hollow static central portion which is divided to form two temperature adjusting fluid paths through which temperature adjusting fluids having different temperatures pass. First and second independent gas flow paths are defined by the casing. A gas mixture containing the gaseous component flows along the first gas flow path through blocks which are heated to a first temperature at which absorption takes place. The blocks are then rotated to a position wherein they are heated to a higher second temperature and release the gaseous component which is exhausted via the second gas flow path. Blocks sequentially enter positions which separate the two different zones.

The catalytic converter units incorporate an easily-removable, cleanable and/or replaceable dirt filter screen which is supported for simple removal from the unit for periodic cleaning or replacement.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a process for removing nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxides and mercury from gas streams such as furnace or utility boiler flue gas streams, particularly those derived from coal-fired utility boilers. A stream containing relatively low concentration of ozone from an ozone concentrator is feed to a barrier discharge reactor. Nitrogen oxides and mercury in the flue gas are oxidized by oxygen and hydroxyl radicals formed in the reactor. The flue gas is then directed to a reactor duct along with the ozone at a greater concentration wherein the remaining nitrogen oxides and mercury in the gas stream will react with the ozone to form nitric acid, nitric acid precursors, mixtures thereof and mercuric oxide. These impurities can then be removed from the gas stream by use of an aqueous scrubber, a wet electrostatic precipitator, a dry scrubber or a semi-dry scrubber.

    摘要: A catalytic converter for purifying exhaust gas discharged from an automotive internal combustion engine. The catalytic converter comprises a casing in which a monolithic catalyst carrier is disposed. An annular cap is fixedly disposed inside the casing and located generally coaxial with the monolithic catalyst carrier. The annular cap is located near an end face of the monolithic catalyst carrier. The cap includes annular bottom, inner and outer walls. The inner and outer walls are separate from each other and extend from the bottom wall. The inner wall is located radially inward of the outer wall. The bottom, inner and outer walls are arranged generally U-shaped in cross-section so as to form a groove. Additionally, an annular elastic washer is coaxially disposed within the groove of the annular cap. The elastic washer is disposed in press contact with the end face of the monolithic catalyst carrier to axially elastically support the monolithic catalyst carrier. The annular elastic washer is an annular molded structure of wire mesh. The annular elastic washer has an inner peripheral face which has a diameter larger than a diameter of an outer peripheral surface of the inner wall of the cap so as to form a clearance between the elastic washer and the inner wall of the cap in a state where the elastic washer is assembled in the casing upon being compressed.

    摘要: Regenerative oxidizer including an entrapment chamber and damper assembly, as well as a method of oxidizing volatile organic compounds in a gas using such apparatus. To improve the VOC destruction efficiency and eliminate opacity issues resulting from heat exchange matrix regeneration, untreated fluid can be diverted away from the oxidizer exhaust stack and directed into a “holding vessel” or VOC entrapment chamber. The assembly utilizes a single damper in order to divert the exhaust flow from the oxidizer either to exhaust or to the entrapment chamber. The entrapment chamber preferably has a modular construction, which facilitates expanding or decreasing the volume of the chamber. The design facilitates installation and can be retrofitted on existing equipment. The damper diverts the flow of gas with minimal or no negative impact on the process flow.

    摘要: The invention relates to a catalytic converter, especially for motor vehicles, and to a method for the production thereof. The inventive method is characterized in that a monolithic packet (17) consisting of at least one monolith (1) with wrap-around supporting matting (7) is pressed into a tube section (2) acting as a housing. The tube section (2) has two longitudinal sections (9, 10) with different inner cross-sectional surfaces. The monolithic packet (17) is pressed inwards from the end (21) of the tube section with the bigger or biggest inner cross-sectional surface. The inventive catalytic converter is characterized in that it has at least one contracted longitudinal section (9) with a reduced diameter (12) or reduced inner cross-sectional surface, whereby the inner surface (5a) of the tube section (2) runs parallel to the central longitudinal axis (32) thereof.
