Abstract:
A filter device having a vent device for inhibiting formation of a vacuum in the filter device. The filter device includes a drum for receiving the liquid wherein the drum includes a drum headspace. The filter device also includes filter sets for filtering the liquid. The drum is rotated to enable cleaning of filter media. The filter device also includes a frame having spaced apart supports for supporting each of the filter sets. A fluid passageway extends between the supports, wherein the fluid passageway provides fluid communication between the tank headspace and a filter set to vent a filter set.
Abstract:
A container for the filtration of liquid is described, which has a cup and a cover mounted on the cup. The cup is at least partly filled with a filter material and has at least one outlet window for the liquid. The cover has at least one inlet window and at least one outlet window for air, wherein at least the windows have lattice-like structures with lattice openings. The air outlet window has at least one recess extending inward from the plane of the window, which is provided at least partially with at least one lattice structure.
Abstract:
A filter element is provided with a snorkel that facilitates bleeding of air along the outside periphery of a tubular filter media pack to a bleed chamber contained within the filter element. This may be employed in fuel filtration applications during installation and removal of filter elements whereby air can be temporarily trapped in a housing containing the filter element. The snorkel thus vents the air along the outside of the filter element and then into a bleed chamber where it can be communicated to a standpipe having an isolated bleed passage.
Abstract:
A pressure filter device may include a filter housing having a filter housing pot and a filter housing cover connected to the filter housing pot in a pressure-tight manner. At least one filter element may be arranged in the filter housing. A vent line may be secured on the filter housing pot and connected to a crude-side gas collection region located directly beneath the filter housing cover to a tank.
Abstract:
A high throughput, positive pressure, gravity operated dewatering system for hydraulic fluids, lubricating fluids, and petroleum based fluids comprises a gravity operated dewatering chamber receiving the industrial fluid and a source of positive pressure drying air coupled to the dewatering chamber.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates to dialysis venting devices and related methods. In some aspects, a dialysis system includes a fluid inlet line, a venting device in fluid communication with the fluid inlet line, and a fluid outlet line in fluid communication with the venting device. The venting device can include a housing defining a fluid chamber, a valve member disposed above the fluid chamber between a lower seat and an upper seat, and a pump that is operable to draw fluid into the fluid chamber from the fluid inlet line and to force fluid out of the fluid chamber into the fluid outlet line.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for filtering a biological sample is presented. The apparatus comprises a body member has an upper end and a lower end and defining a workspace therewithin. A first attachment portion is integrally joined to the lower end of the body member for interlockingly receiving a filtered sample container. A second attachment portion is integrally joined to the upper end of the body member for interlockingly receiving a sample transport container. A substantially conically-shaped filter member, located within the workspace, is integrally joined to the lower end of the body member and extends upwardly above the lower end of the body member toward the upper end of the body member. The filter member defines a plurality of openings in its upwardly extending portion.
Abstract:
A fluid filter for assembly includes an upright housing having a base portion and a cover to allow viewing of a fluid level. The base portion has a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. A filter element has a filter media for filtering the fluid, a bottom end cap connected to the fluid outlet, and a top end cap positioned above the bottom end cap. A mounting member is formed on the top end cap, and a vent passage extends through mounting member for fluid communication between an interior and an exterior of the filter element. An interface structure is connected to cover of the upright housing and is removably engageable with the mounting member of the filter element.
Abstract:
A filter capsule has a filter housing which, on at least one end face, has an end cap with an air release valve. A protective wall is formed on the end cap at a distance from the air release valve and protrudes beyond the air release valve.
Abstract:
A single use, disposable filtration assembly that eliminates the need for disassembly and replacement of fouled filtration modules in a pharmaceutical setting. The single use, disposable filtration assembly is a unitary assembly that is simply positioned and connected within the fluid processing system whereupon the disposable filtration assembly, upon reaching the end of its useable life, is removed from the process as a single, integral unit ready for disposal through appropriate methods.
