Abstract: Methods, systems, assemblies, and/or the like are provided. According to various embodiments, there is provided an absorber assembly including: an absorber body configured to deform under one or more loading forces; a load lock comprising a first counter face and a second counter face, wherein the load lock is configured to prevent deformation of the absorber body when the one or more loading forces are below a minimal threshold; a primary absorbing part configured to deform the absorber body such that the absorber body does not exceed a primary threshold; and a secondary absorbing part configured to deform the absorber body such that the absorber body does not exceed a secondary threshold. In some embodiments, the absorber assembly includes a line of deformation (“LOD”) disposed on or within the absorber body, wherein the LOD comprises one or more radii.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for a tensioning device configured for increasing tension in a line. A system may include a rotating member configured to support a line, the rotating member being configured to rotate around a shaft. A locking member is configured to limit movement of the line when the line is supported by the rotating member. A tensioning handle is configured to have a closed position and an open position, where the tensioning handle is disengaged from the shaft when in a closed position, and where the tensioning handle is configured to be engaged with the shaft when the tensioning handle is in an open position.

Abstract: A shuttle (20) for a climbing protection system (10) is provided and includes a clamping member (26) mounted on a frame (22) for movement between a an opening position, a free position wherein the shuttle (20) can move freely along an elongate support member (12), and a clamping position wherein the clamping member (26) resists movement of the shuttle (20) relative to the elongate support member (12), and an anti-inversion member (30) mounted on the frame (22) for movement between a first closed position blocking insertion of the elongate support member (12) and an open position where the anti-inversion member (30) does not block insertion of the elongate support member (12). The anti-inversion member movable from the open position to the closed position when the shuttle (20) is moved from a desired orientation to a non-desired orientation relative to gravity with the clamping member (26) in the opening position and wherein the clamping member (26) and the anti-inversion member (30) are engaged to maintain the clamping member (26) in the opening position when the shuttle (20) is in the non-desired orientation.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a shock-absorbing lanyard for easy length adjustment of partially oriented yarn (POY). The method for manufacturing a shock-absorbing lanyard for easy length adjustment of POY according to the present disclosure includes (a) weaving a safety tube band which is a tube fabric woven using fiber yarn and rubber yarn, and placing a core material in the safety tube band at the same time, wherein the core material is made of a plurality of POY and stretches in a longitudinal direction to absorb shock; (b) adjusting a length of the core material after weaving the safety tube band; and (c) combining the safety tube band with the core material to form a combination.

Abstract: A davit (10) for arresting the fall of a person working at heights or for material handling where lifting of overloaded material is prevented, has a mast (12), a fuse holder (14) at the top of mast, a fuse head (16) connected to the fuse holder and having sacrificial fuses (18) arranged in series thereon, a jib arm (20) connected to the fuse head, and a primary fall arrestor system (22) having an arresting load limit and mounted to a side of the mast if the davit is to be used for arresting the fall of a person (25) working at heights, and/or a primary lifting-overload prevention system having a working load limit and safety factors if the davit is to be used for material handling where lifting of overloaded material (78) is to be prevented. When excessive forces are being absorbed either by the primary fall arrestor system or by the primary lifting-overload prevention system, the fuse head rotates downwardly relative to the fuse holder, and causes the breaking of one or progressively more of the sacrificial fuses until enough fuses have been broken to absorb the excessive forces.

Abstract: In at least one embodiment, a rooftop rigging support system mounts to a roof a building for suspending a load under an eave of the building. In some embodiments, the rooftop rigging support system comprises an arm that extends outward over the eave and then back inward underneath the eave. In some embodiments, the arm is a generally rigid, non-articulating structure. In some embodiments, the arm can be manually pivoted between a deployed position reaching under the eave and a withdrawn position extending above the roof.
