    摘要： A winch assembly for the displacement of a person between a first vertical position and a second vertical position comprising: a winch for displacing a person in a harness between said first and second vertical positions; a first winch attachment means for realizably engaging said harness, said first winch attachment means being attached to said winch for the displacement of a person between said first and second vertical positions; and a second winch attachment means for realizably attaching the winch to an overhead support, the improvement wherein said first attachment means comprises two opposed support arms and displacement means associated with each said support arms whereby at least part of each arms is displaceable between a working extended position for engaging said harness and a non-working retracted position. The winch has a reduced or more compact aspect during non-working periods as well as in the case of a moving of the winch assembly during non-working periods.

With the belt positioned beneath the patient, a caregiver can readily grip circumferencial handles on the belt to help pull the patient sideways from one surface to another, while borasilicate glass micro-bubbles or other lubricants are dispersed on the interior of the sleeve-like belt to further minimize friction during patient transfer.

    摘要： This invention provides methods and apparatus for moving or transferring a prone person or other body between two platforms, permitting a single caregiver of less than average strength to perform such transfer between an unmodified bed and a second surface, which may for example be part of a transport device. The method involves providing some form of low friction surface over any significant portion of a bed or other platform over which the person or other body is to be moved, the person either being mounted on a low friction board or sheet having straps extending therefrom to facilitate movement of the person across a first platform to a second platform, which is preferably mounted at a slightly lower height than the first one, or straps being wrapped around the person at two spaced locations and used for pulling the patient across the low friction surface to effect the transfer. The invention also includes low friction transfer boards, low friction sheets and special straps adapted for practicing the above methods.

    摘要： A mat conveyor includes a tubular fabric member formed of a soft flexible material and having an interior passage formed therein. A plurality of handle bands are secured to the exterior surface of the tubular member. Each of the handle bands utilizes a support band secured to the exterior surface of the tubular member together with an overlying outer band secured to the support band at a plurality of spaced attachments. The portions of the outer band extending between attachments form a plurality of handle members generally spaced about the tubular member. A pair of carrying poles are receivable within the tubular member interior passage to convert the tubular member to a stretcher-like carrier.
