摘要： A cooling garment for use by workers in hot, humid climates comprising: a moisture-wicking under layer; an outer layer with an air permeability less than 200 L/m2/s when subjected to 125 Pascals of air pressure; at least one air channel formed between the layers and supported in at least some locations by a porous filler material; and an above ambient pressure gas supply attached operably to the inlet of the channel. Also a cooling garment comprising: a moisture-wicking under layer; an outer layer; one large air channel formed between the layers; tacks connecting the outer layer to the moisture-wicking under layer to prevent ballooning; and an above ambient pressure gas supply operably attached to the inlet of the channel.

摘要： A personal protection system for providing a sterile barrier around medical/surgical personnel. The system includes a helmet over which a hood or a toga suspended. The helmet has a chin bar that extends forward of the face of the individual wearing the system. At least one manually actuated control for regulating one aspect of operation of the system is mounted to the chin bar. Sometimes the control is a button that is depressed to control the operation of a helmet mounted fan that draws air into the hood or toga. A microphone may also be mounted to the chin bar.

摘要： A surgical protection system to define a barrier between the user and the external environment. The surgical protection system comprising a helmet assembly, a hood and a transparent face shield. The helmet including a shell, a face frame coupled to the shell, a static tab, a first fastener disposed on the face frame; and a fan mounted to the shell and configured to circulate air about the user. The hood may include a first material defining an opening. The shield may be formed from flexible material and disposed within the opening of the hood. The shield may further include a tab extending from a top portion of the shield and define an opening configured to receive the static tab of the helmet to align the shield to the helmet. The first fastener disposed on the face frame may be configured to facilitate removable attachment of the shield to the helmet.

摘要： A protective headgear includes two air chambers connected through a fan. Each air chamber has a fabric filter with a large surface area. A frame with a fan compartment and headband engages a person's head and forms a boundary to air flow around the head between the two air chambers. Air flows between the two air chambers primarily through the fan. One air chamber is formed above the head and is at lower pressure than air outside the headgear. Another air chamber is formed around the face and is at higher pressure than air outside the headgear. The fan draws air through a fabric filter to provide filtered air into the air chamber around the face, providing breathing volume and positive pressure protection. Exhaled air dissipates out of the headgear through a fabric filter forming part of the air chamber around the face.

In an embodiment, a thermal regulation composition is obtained comprising a binder, a cooling agent, a latent heat agent, and a heat dissipation agent. The thermal regulation composition is printed to a surface of a textile by pressing the thermal regulation composition against the textile surface such that the binder adheres the cooling agent, latent heat agent, and the heat dissipation agent to the surface of the textile, thereby forming a thermal regulation membrane, and the textile is incorporated into an article of apparel.
