摘要: An electronic document generation apparatus includes a processing execution unit that executes first processing for generating an electronic document on the basis of a scanned image of an original document. When data to be used in second processing executed by a cooperative apparatus of the electronic document generation apparatus is generated by one of a plurality of sub-processes of the first processing, the processing execution unit transmits the data to the cooperative apparatus at a stage where there is a remaining unexecuted process among the sub-processes, and continues with execution of the remaining unexecuted process among the sub-processes. The electronic document generation apparatus receives a result of the second processing executed on the data by the cooperative apparatus from the cooperative apparatus, and generates the electronic document on the basis of the result of the second processing and the result of the first processing executed by the processing execution unit.

摘要: This invention provides a technique in which even if a job by a processing apparatus is interrupted during execution, another apparatus continues the processing using completely the same function without further billing the user. Upon receiving a print job, a printing apparatus executes billing processing for the job, in which the printing apparatus communicates with a billing server. The printing apparatus writes, in the memory of an NFC unit, setting values about the received print job, the identification information of the printing apparatus itself, and the identification information of another alternative processing apparatus. While executing the print job, the printing apparatus writes progress information about an unprocessed portion of the job in the memory of the NFC unit every time a preset processing unit is executed during execution of the job.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an input unit that inputs print conditions; a search unit that searches for image forming apparatuses that can execute the print conditions; a display unit that displays icons of the found image forming apparatuses; a generating unit that generates a print job when an icon corresponding to one of the image forming apparatuses is operated; a sending unit that sends the print job to the one of the image forming apparatuses; and a management unit configured to manage progress situation information of print jobs. When an icon of a second image forming apparatus is operated after a print job is sent to a first image forming apparatus and before the first image forming apparatus completes the print job, print jobs are regenerated to distribute a remaining number of sheets between the first image forming apparatus and the second image forming apparatus.

摘要: A multi-layer workflow architecture for a print shop is disclosed. The workflow architecture includes a workflow front end, service bus, and service providers. The workflow front end provides an interface to print shop operators. The service providers are each associated with a device in the print shop. The service bus represents the layer between the workflow front end and the service providers. In operation, the service providers report device capabilities for devices to the service bus. The workflow front end receives the device capabilities from the service bus, and provides the device capabilities to a user to allow the user to define a job ticket based on the device capabilities. The service bus identifies the processes defined in the job ticket, and identifies the service providers operable to provide the processes. The service bus then routes process messages to the identified service providers to execute the processes on the devices.
