Abstract:
In a signal shaper circuit provided between a VICS antenna, which receives a VICS signal and outputs reception input data signal, and a navigation CPU for signal processing, a low pass filter of a resistor and a capacitor is provided. The cutoff frequency of the low pass filter is set to pass light modulation noise included in the input data signal but cut off the input data signal, which is higher in frequency than the light modulation noise. The input data signal is compared with the filter-processed signal used as a reference signal by a comparator. As a result, a final output data signal is outputted in a waveform-shaped form and without loss of data.
Abstract:
The presently claimed invention relate generally to portable audio devices. One claim recites a method including: receiving audio content data through an interface of a portable personal digital device capable of playing audio; storing the received audio content data in electronic memory; audibly rendering said audio content data; utilizing an electronic processor, counting a number of plays of the received audio content data; and displaying the number of plays of the received audio content data to a user of the portable personal digital device. Of course additional claims and combination are provided as well.
Abstract:
A portable device uses a microphone to listen to ambient audio, derives data from captured audio signals, and uses the derived data to request delivery of the audio or related information to the user's home or other location. The device is desirably pocket-sized, or suitable for carrying on a key-ring. The device may also detect a watermark signal that is present in the user's environment (e.g., played through a public address speaker system) to aid the user in recalling the context from which the audio was requested.
Abstract:
A method and system for communicating audio signals between an input device and an output device via a network. The output device can include loudspeakers and headphones. In some embodiments an output device, for example a center channel speaker, transmits audio signals to other output devices. In some embodiments, the output device is coupled to, or combined with, a speaker stand or speaker bracket. The network can be wireless, wired, infrared, RF, and powerline.
Abstract:
An apparatus/system for use in coupling power from a power supply to a device over a network transmission medium is provided. The coupling apparatus/system generally includes one or more common mode chokes that feature a first winding and a second winding, the first winding being electrically connected between the first terminal of the power supply and the first electrical conductor of the network transmission medium, and the second winding being coupled between the first terminal of the power supply and the first electrical conductor of the network transmission medium. The common mode choke generally includes at least one core for coupling the first and second windings of the one or more common mode chokes. An RJ45 to 110 IDC modular connector may be connected to a printed circuit board used to transfer high speed signals for telecommunication interface media connections. The printed circuit board is configured to help reduce near-end crosstalk (NEXT) without compromising impedance. DC power is coupled upon the signal line by utilizing a wideband high impedance common mode choke design.

Abstract:
A method is provided for utilizing a title signal contained in digital data through a comparison of the title signal to a player signal stored in a player device.
Abstract:
A tap for delivering electrical power and video signals to subscriber substations includes an input coupling module for coupling a main video signal and a main power signal from a cable conductor to the tap. Means are provided for generating a subscriber video signal and a subscriber power signal by extracting portions of the signals from the main cable. The subscriber video signals and subscriber power signals then are transmitted to subscriber substations. Communication devices in the subscriber substations can be powered by the subscriber power signal in the absence of electrical power from a power utility.
Abstract:
A back-up system for the supply of electric voltage to the main trunk and secondary amplifier located within a television cable system when an electric fault in the electric supply occurs includes switching members in the system. The switching members may be a relay, a triak or a transistor which are automatically actuated when an electric fault occurs which cause a change of direction of the supply of electricity to the cable system. The switching members may be located within the trunk and may be connected to an in/out supply socket, to a fuse terminal or to a voltage supply selecting socket.
