    摘要: A surface wave device (SWD) programmable to produce any one of a plurality of phase coded SWD digital delay line configurations from a single transducer pattern characterized by parallel transducer electrode arrays to provide for each of two opposite phase alternatives of acoustic surface waves being propagated. Each transducer comprises pairs of interdigital taps, each tap characterizing a single binary bit. Transducer phase coding is accomplished by severing in selected taps all metalized fingers of like polarity from their common conductor bar. Critical configuration tolerances prohibitive to programmed operations are thus obviated.

    摘要: Compound surface acoustic wave matched filters comprise chirp-biphase and biphase code multiplex transducer pairs on piezoelectric substrates. Both alternatives offer significantly improved processing gain when compared with conventional biphase filters. The advantage is realized by convolving the correlation peak of the chirp or biphase input transducer on the response of the conventional biphase output transducer, thus achieving a large processing gain with a minimum number of transducer electrodes.

    摘要: A coded, acoustic, surface-wave, device having a high input impedance, comprising a substrate, and an input and an output transducer, both disposed upon the substrate. The input transducer comprises a plurality of N linear, parallel, equallyspaced electrodes and a plurality of N-1 sets of linear, parallel, electrodes, shorter in length than the first-named plurality of longer electrodes, and interposed between, parallel to, and equally spaced between, the longer electrodes, the shorter electrodes being disposed at one or the other end of the longer electrodes, in either the upper or lower propagation channel. The combination of placements form a code. The output transducer disposed upon the substrate comprises: a longer electrode, spaced a distance apart from, and parallel to the electrodes of, the input transducer, which first intercepts the propagating acoustic wave; and a pair of sets of shorter electrodes; a pair of output electrodes, approximately equal in length to either of the other named shorter electrodes, for providing a transduced electrical signal.

    摘要: A surface-wave ambiguity analyzer comprising a substrate, capable of propagating an acoustic surface wave on its surface, and a transmitting electroacoustic transducer, disposed upon the substrate, having a perimeter substantially in the shape of a trapezoid whose base is parallel to the direction of surface wave propagation. The transmitting transducer comprises a pair of sets of interdigited electrodes, the configuration of the electrodes conforming in shape to the graphs of a set of regular functions which do not cross or otherwise touch each other, a top bus bar, parallel to the base of the trapezoid, to which one of the sets of electrodes is connected, and a bottom bus bar, forming the base of the trapezoid, to which the other set of electrodes of the pair of sets is connected, the top and bottom bus bars being connectable to an electrical signal source. Two absorbers, one on each end of the substrate, are disposed perpendicularly to the base of the trapezoid, for absorbing unwanted acoustic reflections. The ambiguity analyzer may further comprise at least one acousto-electric receiving transducer, disposed at one end of the substrate between the transmitting transducer and one of the absorbers, whose electrodes are disposed perpendicularly to the direction of propagation of the acoustic wave.

    摘要: A surface acoustic wave matched filter for use in a spread spectrum communication system is disclosed. The surface acoustic wave matched filter includes a substrate having dispersity and is composed of a sapphire main body and a piezoelectric aluminum nitride. A tap distance L of an output side electrode is designed on the basis of a group velocity vg instead of a phase velocity vs in order to match the tap distance L with an input spread spectrum signal and to improve a correlation peak level of an output demodulated signal. When the tap distance L is set to satisfy a condition of vg/f1×0.97≦L≦vg/f1×1.02, a decrease in the correlation peak level of the matched filter can be improved from 7 dB to a value smaller than 3 dB, and S/N of the output demodulated signal can be increased. Thus, the disclosed device renders it no longer necessary to process the output demodulated signal by a complicated and power consuming circuit.
