    摘要: Provided is a power generator 1. The power generator includes two magnetostrictive rods 2 arranged side by side and formed of a magnetostrictive material; coils 3 wound around the magnetostrictive rods 2; and a beam member 73 having a function of generating stress in each of the magnetostrictive rods 2. Each of the magnetostrictive rods 2 has one end portion and the other end portion. The power generator 1 is configured to generate a voltage in the coils 3 due to variation of density of lines of magnetic force when the other end portion of each of the magnetostrictive rods 2 is displaced with respect to the one end portion of each of the magnetostrictive rods 2 in a direction substantially perpendicular to an axial direction of the magnetostrictive rods 2 to expand and contract each of the magnetostrictive rods 2. Further, in the power generator 1, a loss coefficient of a constituent material of the beam member 73 is smaller than a loss coefficient of the magnetostrictive material of each of the magnetostrictive rods 2.

    摘要: A movable side mounting portion transmits extension and contraction of a polymer actuator to an electric prosthetic hand. The polymer actuator deforms elastically in accordance with voltage application and returns to its original shape in accordance with stoppage of voltage application. A rear end of the polymer actuator is fixed and a front end of the polymer actuator is movable. When one of a pair of electrodes of the polymer actuator is electrically connected to the fixed side mounting portion, the fixed end is fastened by a bolt to the fixed side mounting portion. Also, when the other electrode is electrically connected to the movable side mounting portion, the movable end is fastened by a bolt to the movable side mounting portion.

    摘要: A ceramic electronic component includes a ceramic body; a plurality of internal electrodes provided in the ceramic body and including ends exposed on a surface of the ceramic body; a coating layer covering a surface portion of the ceramic body on which the internal electrodes are exposed, the coating layer being made of a glass or resin medium in which metal powder particles are dispersed; and an electrode terminal provided directly on the coating layer and including a plating film. The metal powder particles define conduction paths electrically connecting the internal electrodes with the electrode terminal and have an elongated shape in cross section along a thickness direction of the coating layer. The metal powder particles defining the conduction paths have a maximum diameter not smaller than the thickness of the coating layer.

    摘要: An active scanner bow compensator for use with a scanner is described. The scanner includes a moveable scanning platform supported within a frame. The active scanner bow compensator supports the scanner and includes a frame of reference, sensors, and an actuator. The sensors detect out-of-plane motion of the scanning platform relative to the frame of reference, and the actuators compensate for the out-of-plane motion by adjusting the orientation of the frame relative to the frame of reference. The active scanner bow compensator may be used in atomic force microscopy applications.
