摘要: An elongated light source envelope is disclosed. The elongated light source comprises an inner wall and an outer wall formed around a longitudinal axis. The inner wall and the outer wall may be connected at a first axial end by a first side wall and a second axial end by a second side wall. The inner wall, outer wall, the first side wall, and the second side wall define an enclosed space internal to the envelope. The light source envelope further comprises one or more walls formed between the inner wall and the outer wall to further form at least a first enclosed region and a second enclosed region within the enclosed space. The first enclosed region may be configured to emit a different spectrum of ultraviolet radiation from the second enclosed region in response to excitation of the first enclosed region and the second enclosed region by microwave radiation.

摘要: An elongated microwave powered lamp (1) having one or more bulbs with any length or shape or disposition according to a linear series, straight or curved, includes: at least one transparent elongated bulb (2) containing, in an inner space thereof, a material apt to be excited by microwave irradiation thereby emitting an electromagnetic radiation; a coaxial microwave antenna placed outside the bulb (2) and respectively connected to a microwave source (81) via corresponding antenna lead (91), said bulb (2) and said at least one microwave coaxial antenna being displaced in a close relationship to each other to allow the microwave excitation of said material, wherein the outer tubular conductor of the coaxial antenna (5) has spaced holes (6) formed therethrough and facing the bulb (2), at which microwaves are released toward the bulb.

摘要: A light engine for image display projectors has a plurality of monochromatic light sources, typically red, blue and green, combined into one light generation device powered by microwaves pulsed at 3-5 KHz rates. The light engine has a microwave power supply, microwave coupling cavity, a microwave coupler coupling a microwave signal from the microwave power supply to the microwave coupling cavity, and the plurality of monochromatic light sources disposed in the microwave coupling cavity and powered by the microwave signal. The microwave coupling cavity includes a plurality of resonance points, each of the monochromatic light sources being located respectively at one of the resonance points.

摘要: An object of the invention is to provide a thin flat light source device for illumination use such as for a back-illumination of an LCD display etc. which is obtained by thinning a light-guiding plate even when it is illuminated by a multi-colored source. A rear surface of the light-guiding plate 1 having a planar front light-emitting surface 2 is worked by a tapered knurling method to form a light-diffusing surface 3. Two discharge tubes are disposed as light sources outside a side surface 4 of the light-guiding plate 1 in parallel to the light-emitting surface 2 as well as to the side surface 4 so that a virtual plane defined by both central axes of the two tubes intersects substantially perpedicularly the side surface 4. One of the discharge tubes located inside is a red neon tube 5 formed of a transparent glass while another of the discharge tubes located outside is a cold cathode fluorescent tube 6 which emits a desirable luminescent color except for the red. A reflecting plate 7 is disposed enclosing those discharge tubes.

摘要: A discharge lamp comprises a cylindrical lamp casing substantially formed of a metallic material, a transparent glass plate air-tightly fitted to one of the opened end of the lamp casing, a sealing stem air-tightly closing the other opened end of the lamp casing, and a pair of cathode and anode elements sealed in the lamp casing together with discharge gas. The lower portion of the lamp casing may be made in square or circular structure and may be composed of a metallic cylindrical portion extending to a half way of an axial length of the cylindrical lamp casing and a cylindrical transparent glass portion tightly surrounding the outer periphery of the metallic cylindrical portion of the further extending portion and having a front end extending to the sealing stem closing the other end of the lamp casing. The discharge lamp further comprises a member for regulating discharge generated between the paired cathode and anode elements and the interior of the discharge regulating member is divided into a plurality of luminous chambers so that the discharge lamp operates as a fluorescent lamp. The improved structure of the discharge regulating member can improve the light distribution characteristic of the fluorescent lamp.

摘要: A plug-in lamp assembly for use as a picture element in large-screen information display systems. The lamp assembly includes red, green and blue discharge lamps for selectively generating different colors. Each discharge lamp has electrical leads extending from a first end and a light output region at a second end. The lamp assembly further includes a base having spaced-apart, plug-in electrical connectors, a cap covering the second ends of the lamps and a sleeve around the discharge lamps and interconnecting the cap and the base. The base provides mechanical support for the discharge lamps and permits easy replacement of the lamp assembly. The sleeve blocks light emitted from the sides of the discharge lamps. The cap includes a diffuser and a filter for altering the output spectrum of one or more of the discharge lamps. The diffuser can be mounted in a spaced relationship to the second ends of the discharge lamps at a distance therefrom selected such that the light from each different color lamp substantially fills the area of the diffuser. As a result, the light outputs from the discharge lamps are merged at the diffuser.

摘要: A lighting device comprises a serpentine shaped CCFL, a driver driving the CCFL, a connector that allows the device to connect to and receive power from conventional power sockets, and a fixture that connects them into a single device. Such device can be used for general lighting purposes and replaces incandescent and other fluorescent lamps in current use without having to change electrical sockets. The fixture mechanically connects the CCFL, the driver and the connector to form an unitary mechanical structure. Preferably an air gap is maintained between the CCFL and the driver.

摘要: A colored fluorescent display lamp assembly has a lamp housing in which a plurality of discharge chambers are defined. Discharge holes of the respective discharge chambers are disposed in a central area of a bottom wall of the housing. A lamp base, formed by a relatively thin lightweight material, carries therein an electrode common to all of the discharge chambers. The base has an open end sealed to the central area of the lamp housing bottom wall to enclose the discharge holes. The lamp assembly can be thereby minimized in weight and size.
