    摘要: An apparatus, system, and method for performing electron beam modulation includes an input pulser to provide an electromagnetic pulse; a radio frequency (RF) filter to filter the electromagnetic pulse; a nonlinear transmission line to receive the electromagnetic pulse, and generate a backward wave RF oscillation of a predetermined frequency to travel in a direction opposite that of the electromagnetic pulse; and an electron beam generating device including an anode and a cathode, the electron beam generating device to receive a combined electromagnetic pulse from the RF filter and the backward wave RF oscillation from the nonlinear transmission line to cause excitation of a modulated voltage between the anode and cathode, and to cause the electron beam generating device to emit an electron beam that is modulated at the predetermined frequency of the backward wave RF oscillation.

    摘要: In an example embodiment, an electrodeless plasma lamp is, provided which comprises a dielectric body having an effective dielectric constant greater than two. The dielectric body may have a surface with a first region coated with an electrically conductive material and a second region that is not coated with the electrically conductive material. A bulb is located proximate to the second region of the dielectric body and having an outer surface area and the second region may have an uncoated surface area that is less than about sixty percent (60%) of the outer surface area of the bulb. A power source is coupled to the dielectric body to provide radio frequency power to the dielectric body at a frequency that resonates at a fundamental mode in the dielectric body. The bulb contains a fill that forms a plasma when the radio frequency power is provided from the dielectric body through the second region.

A container of the waveguide unit has a space surrounded by reflective surfaces that reflect the microwave radiated from the antenna unit so as to collect the microwave. The projector includes this optical source device, an optical modulating unit that modulates a light beam emitted from the light emitting unit of the optical source device according to image information to form an optical image, and a projecting unit that projects the optical image formed by the optical modulating unit.

    摘要: A traveling-wave tube is provided which has a heat radiating structure with good heat conductivity from the collector core to the heat sink. An insulator is disposed around and in contact with the outer peripheral surface of a collector electrode and has a slit in parallel with a tube axis. A radiator is disposed outside of and in contact with the insulator and has a slot formed on the top surface thereof extending in parallel with the tube axis. The radiator also has one or more grooves that insect the slot and receive therein a fastening member having a length shorter than the length of the groove and formed with screwed holes extending through both end portions thereof in the axial direction. By adjusting amounts by which bolts are screwed into the fastening member through the throughholes formed through the radiator, the gaps in the groove between the radiator and both end surfaces of the fastening member can be varied. This allows a fastening force to be transmitted from the radiator to the entire insulator, thereby readily adjusting the degree of contact between the radiator and insulator and collector electrode.
