摘要: A media device and methods that identify playback states reachable from a current content playback state and identify a reachable state that is likely to occur, are disclosed. A memory associated with the media device may receive frames that enable a smooth transition between the playback state and the reachable state. The media device may receive frames that correspond to points in the content that are separated by an amount of time that is proportional to the playback rate of the likely state. The frames may be frames corresponding to an image that may be played back at the playback rate of the likely state.

摘要: In a recording medium on which is recorded a multiplexed stream including a plurality of first packets (V_main) constituting a first I-picture in a first video stream and a plurality of second packets (V_sub) constituting a second I-picture in a second video stream, information for identifying the first I-picture and information for identifying the second I-picture are recorded on the medium. A recording medium can thereby be obtained that enables the rapid detection, from a small amount of information, of a particular picture included in a stream such as a TS in which multiple content streams are multiplexed.

摘要: A recording apparatus is provided. An adjustment unit executes adjustment processing for adjusting a delay amount of a timing signal. An input control unit executes input control to input continuously recording target data to be recorded to a storage medium, to a buffer memory. A recording control unit executes recording control for recording the recording target data held in the buffer memory to the storage medium, using an input/output unit configured to receive data from the storage medium according to the timing signal. A control unit performs control such that the input control is started before a recording start instruction and the recording control is started in response to the recording start instruction, and such that the adjustment processing is executed during execution of the input control and before the recording control is started in response to the recording start instruction.

摘要: A method of decoding and outputting video information suitable for three-dimensional [3D] display, the video information comprising encoded main video information suitable for displaying on a 2D display and encoded additional video information for enabling three-dimensional [3D] display, the method comprising: receiving or generating three-dimensional [3D] overlay information to be overlayed over the video information; buffering a first part of the overlay information to be overlayed over the main video information in a first buffer; buffering a second part of overlay information to be overlayed over the additional video information in a second buffer; decoding the main video information and the additional video information and generating as a series of time interleaved video frames, each outputted video frame being either main video frame or additional video frame; determining a type of an video frame to be outputted being either a main video frame or an additional video frame; overlaying either first or second part of the overlay information on an video frame to be outputted in agreement with the determined type of frame outputting the video frames and the overlayed information.

The main-view stream contains a main-view video stream constituting main views of stereoscopic video images, and is divided into a plurality of main-view extents arranged on the recording medium. The sub-view stream contains a sub-view video stream constituting sub-views of the stereoscopic video images, and is divided into a plurality of sub-view extents arranged on the recording medium. The extended stream contains extended data to be used in combination with the main-view stream, and is divided into a plurality of extended extents arranged on the recording medium. Between an adjacent pair of the plurality of extended extents, at least two each of the plurality of the main-view extents and the plurality of the sub-view extents are placed in a continuous, interleaved arrangement.

摘要: A disk storage apparatus according to one embodiment includes a head, a storage device, a write module and a controller. The head writes data on a disk. The storage device has a storage area for temporarily storing the data written by the head. The write module writes data to tracks on a disk, while partially overlapping the data with previously written data to adjacent track. The controller detects a drift-off write of the head while writing data, determines a drift-off write area in which the drift-off write is occurred, and protects the data written in the storage area, if the data is written in the drift-off write area.
