Abstract: The present application concerns the visual identification of materials or documents for tracking or authentication purposes. It describes methods to automatically authenticate an object by comparing some object images with reference images, the object images being characterized by the fact that visual elements used for comparison are non-disturbing for the naked eye. In some described approaches it provides the operator with visible features to locate the area to be imaged. It also proposes ways for real-time implementation enabling user friendly detection using mobile devices like smart phones

Abstract: A recognition system for recognizing real-world toy objects from one or more images having an image capturing device and one or more processors. The processor implements a detection module, a recognition module, and a user experience module, and is configured to capture an image of a real-world scene, and detect one or more regions of interest in the image. The recognition system is configured to generate at least one part-image from the captured image, each part image including at least one of the one or more detected regions of interest, and feed the generated part-image to the recognition module. The recognition system is configured to recognize a real-world toy object in the part-image, the real-world toy object comprising at least one toy construction element, and provide a digital representation of the recognized real-world toy object.

Abstract: A counting apparatus includes: a storage unit storing a learning model, the learning model being trained using multiple pairs of training input images each obtained by capturing an image of multiple count target objects with the same shape, and training output images each containing teaching figures that are arranged at respective positions of the multiple count target objects. A captured image acquiring unit acquiring a captured image of multiple count target objects; an output image acquiring unit acquiring an output image in which the count target objects contained in the captured image are converted into count target figures, by applying the captured image to the learning model. A counting unit counting the number of count target objects, using the multiple count target figures contained in the output image; and an output unit outputting the number of count target objects counted by the counting unit.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing a plurality of loose gemstones resting on a worksurface are disclosed. The system comprises an image capturing device for capturing an image of the plurality of loose gemstones on the worksurface. The system further comprises a computing device having a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium and a processor. Additionally, the processor is configured by executing a software application to analyze the image to detect edges of objects within the image and generate a diagram representing the detected edges of the gemstones. The processor is further configured to detect, using a trained neural network processing the image and the diagram, individual gemstones within the image and count the individual gemstones detected within the image to determine a gemstone count. The processor is also configured to perform, using an output device, a processing operation on the gemstones as a function of the gemstone count.

Abstract: A left object detection device for detecting an object left behind in a monitoring target area includes an acquisition section which acquires an image of the area from an image pickup device for picking up an image of the monitoring target area, a processing section, and an output section which outputs in accordance with a result of the processing section. Upon detection of the object which has been kept static for a given time period as an article from the image acquired by the acquisition section, the processing section starts a timer for counting time from detection of the article, determines whether or not a person who owned the article matches a person in the image acquired by the acquisition section, stops the timer upon determination that they match, and does not stop the timer upon determination that they do not match. The processing section determines whether or not the timer counts in excess of a predetermined time period. Upon determination made by the processing section that the timer counts in excess of the predetermined time period, the output section outputs an existence of the left object.

Abstract: In some implementations, a device may receive prescription information associated with a medication in a container. The device may cause a camera to capture first image data associated with the medication while the medication is in the container and the container is positioned on a receptacle. The device may cause an adjusting device to reposition the container on the receptacle. The device may cause the camera to capture second image data associated with the medication while the medication is in the container. The device may process, via a neural network, the first image data and the second image data to identify the medication based on depictions of individual units of the medication included in the first image data and the second image data. The device may verify the medication based on the prescription information and an identifier of the medication provided by the neural network.

Abstract: A method for providing a singling device of a storage and dispensing container for drug portions is provided. A singling device is adapted to a specific drug portion based on the measurement of the drug portion. The measurement is obtained by generating at least one image of a to-be-measured drug portion by a detection device and using image analysis to process the at least one image. Drug information for the specific drug portion is determined, the drug information including at least the dimensions of the specific drug portion. Based on the determined drug information, a singling device fitting the drug portion to be singularized is identified and provided for use in the storage and dispensing container. A system for identifying a singling device is also provided.
