Abstract: A display apparatus and a fingerprint identification method are provided. An exemplary display apparatus includes a display region including a fingerprint identification region; a plurality of fingerprint identification pixels disposed in the fingerprint identification region and configured to provide a fingerprint identification light; a fingerprint identification array including fingerprint sensing units disposed in the fingerprint identification region and configured to receive the fingerprint identification light after being reflected by a touching body; and a controller electrically connected to the fingerprint sensing units and configured to obtain a whole image of a to-be-identified fingerprint, determine position coordinates of characteristic points on the display apparatus according to the whole image, control a first number of the fingerprint identification pixels to emit light according to the position coordinates to obtain local images at characteristic points of the to-be-identified fingerprint, and identify the to-be-identified fingerprint according to the local images.

Abstract: In one aspect, methods that use a novel representation, referred to as an octant feature vector (OFV), are used for matching distorted fingerprints. For instance, a feature-based matcher for distorted fingerprint matching may use a two-step local and global matching scheme to compare a set of feature vectors that are derived from minutiae of a reference fingerprint and a search fingerprint. The relative geometric relationships between the reference minutia and nearest minutiae may be derived and encoded into a feature vector based on orientation difference. The OFV is invariant to the rigid transformations and is insensitive to nonlinear distortions since the relative geometric relationships are independent from the rigid transformation.

Abstract: A method for fingerprint identification and a terminal are provided. The method includes the follows. Source fingerprint data for fingerprint identification is acquired. Fingerprint data to be processed, whose fingerprint data value in a preset threshold range, is extracted from the source fingerprint data. A feature amplifying process is performed on the fingerprint data to be processed and the fingerprint data amplified is repaired to obtain repaired target fingerprint data. A three-dimensional surface is generated according to capacitance values of pixels of the target fingerprint data, a fingerprint image is simulated via the three-dimensional surface, and the simulated fingerprint image is compared with pre-stored fingerprint verification data. The source fingerprint data is determined to be identified successfully, based on a determination that the simulated fingerprint image matches the pre-stored fingerprint verification data.
