摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, a fixing portion configured to heat the toner image formed on the sheet by the image forming portion and fix the toner image to the sheet, a folding portion configured to fold the sheet having passed through the fixing portion such that a surface of the sheet to which the powder adhesive is applied is inside, and a bonding portion configured to heat the sheet folded by the folding portion and bond the sheet by the powder adhesive. A relationship of Tmax1>Tmax2 is satisfied, where Tmax1 (° C.) is a highest temperature of the powder adhesive when being heated by the fixing portion and Tmax2 (° C.) is a highest temperature of the powder adhesive when being heated by the bonding portion.

摘要: In a case where a binding unit performs a binding process at the corner portion on a first end side in a width direction of the sheet in the second posture, an abutment operation of conveying the sheet and abutting the downstream end edge of the sheet in a conveyance direction against the abutment portion, and a shift operation of moving the sheet to a position where the sheet does not contact a back side surface of the binding unit when the binding unit is in the second posture, on a second end side in the width direction with respect to a position of the sheet conveyed to the placement portion are performed. Then a movable turning unit turns the binding unit from a first posture to the second posture, and the binding process is performed by the binding unit in the second posture.

The pressing force adjusting mechanism causes a pressing force in a state of being conveying the sheet folded in half to be lower than that in a state of being folding the sheet in half.

摘要: A post-processing device includes a stacking portion on which media are stacked; a staple binding device that binds the media together by using a staple and that is movable between staple binding positions at which the staple binding device binds the media together and a supply position that is in a front section in a width direction of the media and at which staples are suppliable to the staple binding device; and a stapleless binding device that binds the media together without using a staple and that is movable between a stapleless binding position at which the stapleless binding device binds the media together and a retracted position that is in the front section. When the stapleless binding device is moved to the retracted position, the staple binding device and the stapleless binding device do not interfere with each other irrespective of a position of the staple binding device.
