摘要: A sensor circuit is provided with a chopper-stabilized amplifier circuit configured to receive a signal from at least one magnetic sensing element, a sigma-delta modulator (SDM) configured to receive a signal from the chopper-stabilized amplifier circuit, and a feedback circuit configured to reduce ripple in a signal generated by the chopper-stabilized amplifier circuit. The feedback circuit includes a demodulator to demodulate a signal from the SDM in a digital domain by inverting a bit stream of the signal from the SDM according to a frequency chopping rate, a digital integrator configured to integrate an output signal of the demodulator to form an integrated signal, and a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) configured to convert the integrated signal to an analog signal and provide the analog signal to the chopper-stabilized amplifier circuit.

摘要: A magnetic sensor circuit includes a first type electromagnetic conversion element which supplies antiphase signals corresponding to the intensity of a magnetic field in a first direction, a second type electromagnetic conversion element which supplies antiphase signals corresponding to the intensity of a magnetic field in a second direction, a switch circuit which controls a current supplied from a current source to the first and the second type electromagnetic conversion elements, and a common mode feedback circuit which determines a midpoint voltage between the first and the second type electromagnetic conversion elements. The common mode feedback circuit performs a feedback operation to thereby set an output common voltage of the first type electromagnetic conversion element higher than the preset reference voltage and set an output common voltage of the second type electromagnetic conversion element lower than the preset reference voltage.

摘要: Systems and techniques relating to voltage signal peak level detection used in sensor devices, namely in Fly-Height Sensors (FHS) devices include, according to an aspect, an integrated chip device comprising: peak detection circuitry configured to receive a voltage signal and output a peak voltage signal associated with a peak voltage level of the voltage signal, wherein the peak detection circuitry comprises: a linear loop section configured to store the peak voltage level and hold additional voltage levels of the voltage signal at an output terminal of an amplifier to a value greater than zero; and a feedback loop section configured to reduce a leakage current within the peak detection circuitry and generate a guard voltage signal usable to reduce a feedback voltage and prevent the feedback voltage from successively re-entering into the feedback loop section.

摘要: The systems and methods of detecting a change in object presence in a magnetic field disclosed herein inject a low amplitude signal near the resonant frequency into the coil until the system comes to equilibrium. At this point the feedback is measured. The feedback signal can be measured as at least one of several signals, for example, but not limited to the voltage on the resonant capacitor, the current in the coil, and the voltage between the resonant capacitor and the coil. A change in the steady state response indicates a change in device presence.

摘要: Offsets (short and long term) are significantly reduced in a Lorentz force magnetometer circuit. A modulated bias current supplied to the magnetometer is chopped by periodically switching its polarity. Magnetometer output is demodulated, then de-chopping performed to restore signal polarity output. Chopping of the bias current signal polarity modulates magnetic field signal to a frequency in which electrostatic force remains constant toward eliminating offset and long-term drift from said micromechanical resonator.

摘要: A magnetic field detection sensor includes a magneto-impedance element configured to make use of the magneto-impedance effect, and a negative-feedback bias coil configured to apply a bias magnetic field to the magneto-impedance element. The magnetic field detection sensor is configured to detect an external magnetic field based on an output obtained by applying an alternating-current to the magneto-impedance element. The magneto-impedance element includes a non-magnetic substrate, and a magnetic thin-film that is provided on a surface of the non-magnetic substrate. The magnetic field detecting direction matches the longitudinal direction of the magneto-impedance element, and the magnetic thin-film is configured to have a magnetic anisotropy such that a direction of an axis of easy magnetization thereof matches the magnetic field detecting direction.

The current generator can include a resistor disposed in the epitaxial layer and having characteristics such that a resistance of the resistor can vary with a stress of the semiconductor substrate, resulting in changes of the drive current, to compensate for variations in the sensitivity of the Hall effect element with the stress of the substrate.
