摘要: Liquid samples containing for example differerent combinations of DNA and markers are subjected to various processing steps, for examle exposure to different temperature baths. A flexible band is used that contains a series of cavities arranged along a longitudinal direction of the flexible band. The liquid samples are inserted into the cavities and the band is subsequently fed through a succession of processing stations. The band extends through the stations when the processing steps of the stations are applied. By advancing the band the samples are subjected to successive processing stages. At the end of the process the band may be disposed of, for eexample after extracting the samples.

摘要: An automated system and process is provided for pooling samples from a multiplicity of blood or plasma donations for subsequent testing to uniquely identify any such blood or plasma donations which may be infected with a particular virus. The system includes an autosampler needle which is directly inserted into a blood or plasma sample aliquot container in order to withdraw an aliquot portion of the contents for forming a sample pool with aliquot portions of other blood or plasma samples. The autosampler comprises a tubular piercing member having a hollow interior bore and a tubular shroud surrounding the piercing member.

摘要: The cover film sticking device is capable of securely sticking cover film pieces on specimen samples on all slide glasses stored in a basket, which starts to stick the cover film pieces formed, by cutting off long cover film unwound from a film roll to a specified length on the specimen samples on the plurality of slide glasses stored in the basket 26 taken out from a load tank 12 filled with a volatile protective solution. The sticking device is characterized by cover film length securing means for unwinding the long cover film from the film roll and extending the same until reaching cutting means so as to secure the cover film of such a length that can form the cover film pieces to be stuck onto the specimen samples on the maximum number of the slide glasses storable in the basket 26 taken out from the load tank 12.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for testing the interaction between at least one liquid sample and a respective solid sample. The method comprises at least the steps of—providing adjacent first and second cavities, where said first and second cavities are in mutual communication via at least one passage, —placing the solid sample in said first cavity, —introducing the liquid sample in one of said first and second cavities, —sealing at least said first and second cavities from the exterior, so as to form a closed system of communicating cavities, —bringing said liquid sample into contact with the solid sample in said first cavity, transferring substantially all of said liquid sample to the second cavity after it has been brought into contact with the solid sample, —and testing the desired properties of any one or both of said liquid sample or said solid sample.
