Abstract: A wireless temperature monitor probe includes a spike for insertion into an object for which a core temperature is to be monitored and a head at a proximal end of the spike. A sensor inductor coil is in the head and is used for wireless interrogation by an external detector unit to determine the core temperature. The spike axis is not in the plane of the inductor coil in the head, for example so that there is a bend between them. This makes it easier to insert the spike while maintaining a desired orientation of the head, in particular to enable correct communication with the remote detector unit. In addition, it enables the head to be positioned against the object so that the probe takes up a minimum amount of space.

Abstract: Embodiments include systems and methods for heating materials, including heating materials for cooking and soldering. A representative system and method for cooking food includes passing electric current through the food, sensing a characteristic of the food, and modulating the electric current in response to the characteristic of the food to achieve a selected internal temperature of the food. The system and method can include searing the food with hot oil or photons directed at the surface of the food. A representative system and method for heating a material includes modulating a plurality of semiconductor light sources to emit photons toward the material, measuring a temperature of the material, and modulating the plurality of semiconductor light sources in response to the temperature of the material. The material can include solder and the method can include heating solder in a reflow soldering process.

Abstract: A digital cooking thermometer includes a housing having a proximal end, a distal end, a printed circuit board disposed within the housing, and an electronic visual display in communication with the printed circuit board. The digital cooking thermometer has a dynamo assembly housing coupled with the distal end of the housing that is configured to rotate relative to the housing, and a dynamo assembly disposed within the dynamo assembly housing. The dynamo assembly is in communication with the printed circuit board and is configured to generate electrical current upon rotation of the dynamo assembly housing. A temperature probe is coupled with the dynamo assembly housing. The temperature probe includes a sensor for obtaining temperature readings. The temperature probe is moveable from a retracted position to an extended position for simultaneously rotating the dynamo assembly housing for generating the electrical current used for operating the digital cooking thermometer.

By additionally arranging the distance amplifier, the food temperature information is enhanced, so that the processing device is capable of acquiring the food temperature information stably, thereby improving the detection accuracy of food temperature.

Abstract: A temperature sensor is provided for measuring a temperature of a liquid contained in a cooking vessel. The temperature sensor includes a first housing containing processing and wireless communication circuitry, a second housing containing a temperature probe, and a connecting member carrying wiring that connects the processing and wireless communication circuitry to the temperature probe. The temperature sensor also includes a fastener coupled to the first housing and configured to removably affix the temperature sensor to a sidewall of a cooking vessel such that the first housing is exterior to the cooking vessel, and the second housing extends over an interior bottom surface of the cooking vessel. The temperature probe is extendible from or retractable into the second housing to an adjustable height above the interior bottom surface of the cooking vessel and configured to measure a temperature of a liquid contained in the cooking vessel.

Abstract: A heat radiation-resistant NTC temperature sensor comprises a measurement rod which is in contact with a plane of an object to be measured.
