    摘要: A platform weighing system (10) suitable for making accurate weight measurements of heavy objects, such as aircraft, is disclosed. Hardware and software combine to produce the accurate results. Analog hardware (14) includes hydraulic load cells (80a-80d), temperature sensing (91), filtering (90), and voltage-to-frequency conversion (104). Digital hardware (12) receives an oscillation signal output from the voltage-to-frequency conversion (104) and obtains load counts by monitoring the oscillation signal for consistent predetermined durations. The predetermined duration is chosen in software (226) to be immune to particularly pervasive noise signals. A microprocessor (16) converts load counts into a weight code which is output to a display (46). This conversion includes compensation for auto ranging (320), load cell excitation variance (282), temperature compensation (284), null offset variance (286), and zero drifting (304). In addition, nonlinearities in load cell output are compensated by linearly interpolating (288-296) between two of a plurality of calibration points that characterize the load cells (80a-80d ). Such compensations are performed primarily in software (200).

    摘要: A system for weighing spools of paper includes a pair of hydraulic cylinders with pistons which may be extended to support the ends of the reel upon which the paper spool is wound. One fluid inlet of each of the cylinders is connected to a fluid reserve tank. The other fluid inlet communicates with an air-hydraulic booster through a hydraulic fluid line. A four-way, two-position valve includes an inlet from a high pressure air supply, an exhaust outlet, and air lines connected to the fluid reserve tanks and to the air-hydraulic booster. Load cells positioned on each of the pistons are connected to a scale device which provides a visual weight display. When a spool of paper is to be weighed, the valve directs high pressure air to the air-hydraulic booster to extend the pistons. The force exerted by the spool on the load cells is equal to the weight of the spool.

    摘要: The portable airbag scale is a scale that measures the weight of a load based upon a difference between measured air pressure in an inflatable bladder, the difference being measured between a first state, where the load is not positioned on the inflatable bladder, and a second state, in which the load is supported on the inflatable bladder. The portable airbag scale includes an inflatable bladder having opposed upper and lower walls and at least one sidewall. A port is formed through the at least one sidewall for selective inflation and deflation of the inflatable bladder. A pressure sensor is mounted within the inflatable bladder for measuring the air pressure therein. A controller selectively calculates the weight of the load based upon the measured difference in air pressure. A display is provided for displaying the weight of the load.

    摘要: A loader includes a lift arm assembly, raised by hydraulic lift cylinders and carrying a load bucket. Alignment members mounted respectively on the loader frame and lift arm assembly, and visible to the loader operator, identify the weigh position of the lift arm assembly. A pressure to voltage transducer is mounted on one lift cylinder, and is connected in a bridge circuit producing a DC voltage output. The bridge circuit output signal, proportional to the bucket load, is fed to an amplifier, whose output is passed to an analog-to-frequency converter producing pulses at a frequency proportional to the bucket load. An electronic clock allows the converter output pulses to pass through an AND gate to a bucket counter which displays the bucket load, and is automatically reset to zero. The converter pulses are passed to an accumulator counter through a second AND gate. The accumulator counter accumulates the weight of several bucket loads which are loaded onto a transport vehicle; and is reset manually after the vehicle is loaded.

    摘要: This force measuring apparatus includes a balance beam, means for applying a force representative of a load to be weighed to the balance beam, and means for applying counterweights in preselected steps to the balance beam. A signal is picked up from the position of the beam and is used to actuate a display indicating the weight of the load. The balance beam moves within a limited range of positions. Whenever it approaches one end of its limited range, a maximum or minimum signal is produced and controls a motor to drive the counterweight means to apply counterweights to the beam or to remove counterweights, as required to restore the balance beam to its limited range of positions. The display is concurrently reset to compensate for the change in the counterweight, so that the display accurately indicates the weight of the load.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for measurement signal compensation comprises providing an analog-to-digital converter that includes a dual slope integrator. A microprocessor controls the reference voltage applied to the integrator. An amplifier having a switchable gain, controls the amplification of the input signal to the integrator during the various phases of integration. An off-set compensation value is stored in a memory device for providing off-set compensation by charging a capacitor connected to the integrator. A full-scale rough adjust value is also stored on the memory device and is used as a specific reference to produce a reference voltage that is, in turn, used in the integrator during the negative slope phase. During the positive slope phase, the integration time is controlled by means of full-scale fine adjust values. The temperature dependent full-scale fine adjust values are produced from the preprogrammed values in memory by using interpolation techniques. For example, in the case of a piezo-resistive pressure sensor application, the temperature sensing is undertaken by intermittently sensing the temperature of the measuring circuitry using an on-chip temperature sensor, or the temperature at the top of the sensor bridge using the pressure sensors, or by using external temperature sensors. Pressure measurement depends on the plus and minus outputs of the sensor bridge, and measurement is performed by appropriately adjusting the integrator to provide for temperature compensation during the analog-to-digital conversion process.
