Abstract: A fireworks aerial display shell is provided with lift charges positioned at opposite ends of a casing that additionally contains an effects charge. Fuses are operatively associated with the lift charges and the effects charge in a manner to ignite the lift charges a period of time before igniting the effects charge. When either one of the ends of the casing is placed facing a closed bottom of a launch tube of a reusable mortar, the burning lift charge at that end of the casing when ignited exerts a propelling force to propel the aerial display shell upwardly out of the launch tube to an intended height before the effects charge is ignited to create a pyrotechnic visual effects display.

Abstract: A multiple stage pyrotechnic shell apparatus is disclosed. The invention has enhanced efficiency to increase lift and reduce the risk of one or more of the charges from exploding near the ground. The enhanced efficiency is obtained through the novel use of shaped breaks that conform to the shape of the inner surface of the shell's launch tube, and in particular through the use of cylindrically shaped breaks in round launch tubes. In addition, the present invention further enhances efficiency by configuring the breaks such that all the breaks weigh the same or the upper breaks weigh more than the lower breaks in the launch tube.

Abstract: A fireworks device having a body that is constructed of a single flexible sheet, which is folded around a tubular reservoir and forms front and rear opposable surfaces allowing a user to grip said surfaces and operate the fireworks device with one hand. The device includes a trigger that protrudes outwardly from the body near the front surface and is depressable to activate a discharge firecracker located within the reservoir. Upon activation, the discharge firecracker creates pressure sufficient to project contents from the reservoir outward and in a direction desired by a user. Abstract: A long-distance blast banger including a cartridge loaded with a blast banger made up from plastic material. The blast banger encompasses a sound explosives cup and a delay cup. The sound explosives cup is loaded with a sound explosives agent having components including perchloryl potassium, magnesium powder and aluminum powder. A sufficient sound value is acquired through appropriate compacting of the sound explosives cup, and therefrom realizes uniform shattering of the cup into small fragments that are insufficient to cause injury. Furthermore, at least two helical grooves extending from a bottom to a top of the cartridge are defined on an inner wall thereof, and ear attachments are configured on a base of an outer wall of the blast banger so as to correspond with the helical grooves, thereby engendering a spinning stability effect during flight time of the blast banger, reducing wind resistance, and thus increasing flight range.

Abstract: A system for initiating shock tube which has a low cost of manufacture, is relatively impervious to moisture, and initiates the shock tube reliably is described. The initiating system comprises a thermal input initiator device, a thermal enhancing output device, and a length of shock tube. The thermal input initiator device converts the thermal flame energy to percussive energy that travels as a signal wave along the shock tube at a speed of 6500 ft/sec.
