    Abstract: A web printer is provided for printing web patterns on print media. The web printer includes a cabinet. A plurality of ink reservoirs is mounted, in a releasable manner, within the cabinet and store respective types of ink to be printed. A print media cartridge is mounted, in a releasable manner, within the cabinet and carries a wound length of print media. A platen extends away from the print media cartridge to support print media provided from the print media cartridge along a print media travel path. A stationary printhead is mounted within the cabinet to extend transverse to the print media. The printhead is configured to print a web pattern with the ink and upon print media provided from the platen. In use, the print media travel path from the print media cartridge to the printhead forms a substantially straight line.

    Abstract: An inkjet printer has a drying compartment for the freshly printed media web. The compartment has a top opening for receiving the media web fed from the printhead, the top opening being configured so that the media web is received as a suspended partial loop within the compartment. The printer also has a source of heated air located above the top opening for blowing heated air into the compartment through the top opening to dry printing on the suspended partial loop of the media web.

    Abstract: Moving storage festoons consist of multiple storage racks each including two or more storage bars fixed relative to each other, with successive storage racks pivotally connected together permitting movement of the storage racks in a continuous looped path. The storage racks are supported on guide rails by bearings or wheels and require very little force to move the storage racks, permitting a pusher-type drive system to be used to push the racks along the guide rails. A pressure roll may also be used to press the rubber material against projections on the storage bars thereby preventing slippage.
