摘要: A barrel-shaped solar roofing element consisting of a portion of a conical-shaped panel of a material such as PVC plastic formed by injection molding adapted for receiving an impingement of solar energy upon an outer surface thereof and constructed of insulative material having a relatively thin dimension, a passway extending throughout the panel for conduiting a heat exchanger fluid, the passway having a male coupling at one edge of the panel and a female coupling at a generally distal edge of the panel and constituting a fluid circuit, or at least a portion thereof, each of the male coupling and female coupling formed for interlocking with a complementary or mating kind of coupling of an adjacent panel.

摘要: A method for producing weather-resistant panels of moulded elements consisting of particles, e.g. fibres or chips, mixed with bonding agents, or of raw materials prepared in some other way and pressed together under heat, a layer of vulcanizable elastomeric substances, such as natural and/or synthetic rubber or the like, being applied to the top and/or bottom of this loose or precompacted mixture prior to hot-pressing and the said mixture being vulcanized during the said hot-pressing in such a manner that the said panels or moulded elements may be produced quite simply as heating or cooling devices. This is achieved in that, for the purpose of producing integrated hollow conduits, trough-like depressions, lined with the said vulcanizable layer, are produced in the surface of the base-material before or during the hot-pressing, the said depressions being covered by an additional layer which bridges them over.

摘要: A roofing member for collecting solar energy defines an external shape and has dimensions similar to traditional roofing means such as tiles or slates. The roofing member comprises at least one transparent wall with a closed cavity below this wall, and a dark area in contact with the cavity below said wall. First and second complementary connecting means are located respectively in an area of a side of the member intended to be placed at an upper level and in an area of a side of the member intended to be placed at a lower level. In this way a mechanical connection can be made simultaneously between the first complementary connecting means of a second similar member superimposed by the said area of the side intended to be lowermost and the second complementary connecting means of the member simultaneous therewith a sealed interconnection of the respective cavities of these two members can be made in order to allow the circulation of a heat-carrying fluid from one member to the other.

摘要: A solar collector module includes a first pan shaped absorber, a smaller second pan shaped absorber adapted to be received in the first absorber, and a first plurality of heat exchanger fins affixed to the bottom of the second pan for defining a baffled, mazelike fluid flow path between the first and second absorber pans. A fluid inlet is provided at one end of the fluid flow path, while a fluid outlet is provided at the other end of the fluid flow path. A second plurality of heat exchanger fins extends upwardly from the second absorber pan, and a first insulative dead air space is defined between the second pan and a first transparent cover supported atop the upwardly extending fins. A transparent grid mounted atop the first transparent cover supports a second transparent top cover, defining a second insulative dead air space between the first and second covers.

摘要: A solar heating roof shingle roof structure which combines the functions of a roof and a fluid conducting solar heating panel. Each shingle is a hollow body of the general size and configuration of a conventional shingle, and is provided with a fluid inlet socket at the upper end and a fluid outlet plug at the lower end with a skirt at the lower end overlapping the plug. Shingles are assembled in an overlapping array to cover a roof structure, with interconnections between the inlets and outlets of successive longitudinally positioned shingles to provide fluid paths through the complete array. An inlet manifold is positioned at the upper end of the array or in the alternative contained in a cap used at the peak of the roof and an outlet manifold is connected to the outlet of the lowest row of shingles.

摘要: A surfacing tile, having a convex and concave surface and two spaced apart sides, is made of a material that allows at least a portion of the solar energy impinging upon the tile to be transmitted through the tile and be absorbed by a supporting surface thereunder. Once absorbed by the surface, most of the energy is prevented from escaping by the glazing effect of the tile. The tile, together with the underlying surface, forms an airspace therebetween such that a plurality of interfitting tiles installed upon the surface will form ducts that can conduct a fluid, such as air, heated by the absorbed solar energy to a location at which it can be used or dissipated. Tiles installed in such a fashion thus form a solar energy collection system directly with the surface upon which they are installed. One contemplated variation in the design of the tile is to provide interlocking features to allow installed tiles to interlock with adjacent installed tiles, thus effecting a stronger, more air and water tight surface covering. Other contemplated variations in tile design include different shapes or repeating shapes, different colors to vary the aesthetics of the surface, and providing integral insulating features within the body of the tile.

摘要: A solar panel for use in a roof mounted array of solar panels, each panel having ridges protruding outwardly and adjacent to the side edges for receiving a standing seam cap between side-adjacent panels. Each solar panel is formed as an integral structure having a photovoltaic module an edge of which is sealed by a base substrate. The base substrate is configured to have lipped top and bottom edges which interlock to form a watertight seal between top-adjacent and bottom-adjacent solar panels. The solar panel array can be mounted on a roof, in place of shingles or the like, to provide environmental protection for the interior of a building.

摘要: A solar heating roof shingle roof structure which combines the functions of a roof and a fluid conducting solar heating panel. Each shingle is a hollow body of the general size and configuration of a conventional shingle, and is provided with a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. 摘要: A solar energy collector comprised of a body for use with other such bodies in forming a roof. The body is cast or pressed from a suitable roofing material, such as concrete, plastic, magnesium oxy-chloride, clay and the like with integral color or color coating as desired. The body has projections and recesses at the sides, and ends for allowing the adjacent bodies forming a roof of a building to overlap each other to cover the top of the building. Each body has upper ridges or strips randomly placed and randomly spaced apart to increase the heat capacity thereof and to provide an aesthetic appearance for the body and thereby the roof when the body forms a part of the roof. One or more pipe sections are embedded in the body in the lower surface thereof for allowing water or other liquid to pass into heat exchange relationship with the body to absorb the heat energy therefrom when the body is exposed to solar energy. Several embodiments of the body are disclosed.
