    摘要: Pressurized communited solid fuel particles are mechanically reground in a fuel injector prior to being radially injected in a swirling motion into a combustor where the fuel is mixed with oxidizing fluid in a swirling motion that is opposite to the swirling motion imported to the solid fuel particles and burned to form both solid and gaseous products of combustion. The products of combustion are passed through separator where the solid products of combustor are removed by inertia. Means are also provided for injecting liquid or gaseous fuels into the combustor to assist in the combustion process and meeting varying load demands on the engine.

    摘要: A quantity of solid fuel is attached to the inside of the combustion chamber of the turbine. When the engine begins a starting sequence, a starter begins spinning the compressor and an air flow is pumped through the engine. The solid fuel is then heated by a heater element until the solid fuel begins to burn. The combustion of the solid fuel increases the temperature of the combustion chamber so that when, thereafter, an atomized or vaporized liquid fuel is injected, the temperature within the combustion chamber is sufficient to allow the liquid fuel to burn in a self-sustaining manner.

    摘要: A novel combustion device is installed into a gas turbine to permit operation with solid or other high ash fuels. A refractory burner block defines an annular primary combustion chamber and a number of secondary cyclonic combustion chambers positioned radially inwardly of the primary chamber. Waste wood or other solid fuels are charged into the primary combustion chamber. Pressurized combustion air flows derived from the turbine's compressor are introduced tangentially into the primary chamber thereby creating a vortex. A number of passages place the primary chamber in communication with the secondary chambers. These passages are formed in a radially inner wall of the primary chamber so that fuel particles are retained within the primary chamber by centrifugal forces until reduced to an appropriate size for combustion in the secondary chambers. The primary chamber exhaust flows and additional combustion air are introduced tangentially into each secondary chamber adjacent to a short exhaust tube leading to the turbine's runner thereby creating a vortex in each secondary chamber. Ash produced in each secondary chamber travels under the influence of the vortex along an inner chamber wall in a direction opposite to combustion gas flows through the exhaust tube and escapes radially through an opening distant from the exhaust tube.

Compressed air enters the spherical casing, is directed through a pair of cooling gaps, is caused to enter the air distribution box and then passes through the fluidized bed.

    摘要: A method to provide renewable energy by utilizing aluminum, which is easy to store and stably suppliable, as a fuel without harming the environment or human body. Aluminum powder and oxygen are introduced into a combustion chamber and subjected to stationary combustion. The stationary combustion of aluminum is conducted by controlling either or both amounts of aluminum powder and oxygen introduced into the chamber. The amount of the aluminum powder is controlled by the amount of aluminum powder sucked into a jet stream of a carrier gas that introduces the powder into the combustion chamber, or by the amount of an impurity to be mixed with the powder. The amount of oxygen is controlled by the mixing ratio of oxygen to a diluent gas introduced simultaneously. The alumina from the combustion is recovered, reduced to aluminum, and recycled as a fuel.
