    Abstract: There is provided a combustion apparatus for reducing generation of NOx by securing more time for mixing fuel and air and uniformly mixing fuel and air.The combustion apparatus includes: a modifying part configured in the center to modify supplied hydrocarbon-based fuel and air and discharge high temperature modified gas including hydrogen to an outlet; and a supply part configured at an outer side of the outlet to jet fuel and air to one side of the modified gas discharged from the modifying part to form a flame at a position spaced apart by a pre-set distance from the outlet.

    Abstract: A humidification system includes a housing mountable into an air duct, that includes a base frame, a cover and at least one open end panel. The base frame is mountable to an opening in the air duct that is shaped and configured to align with the base frame. The cover attaches to the base frame with the open end panel between the base frame and cover. The air outlet is through the open end panel. An evaporative element is positioned between the air inlet and air outlet. Controlling humidity output provides moisture to the evaporative element when needed.The bypass frame includes louvers that are positioned within the air inlet, where the louvers are sized to extend into the air duct. The louvers are graduated in size. After passing through the housing, an air return directs humidified air from the open end panel to a low pressure air duct.

    Abstract: A drum humidifier is designed for use with a forced air furnace and includes a housing including a base, a first side wall, a second side wall and a top. A removable water pan is positioned to be supported by the base. Water is maintained in the water pan by a watering means, the watering means comprising a float. A movable water pan floor, the water pan floor having an operating position and a maintenance position. The water pan floor is substantially coplanar with the base and is positioned under at least a portion of the water pan in the operating position. The water pan floor is moved to a maintenance position to allow removal of the water pan around a float while the water pan remains in a substantially horizontal position.

    Abstract: An improved burner and a method for combusting fuel in burners used in furnaces such as those found in steam cracking. The burner includes a burner tube having a longitudinal axis and having a downstream end and an upstream end for receiving fuel gas and air, flue gas or mixtures thereof, a fuel orifice located adjacent the upstream end of the burner tube, for introducing fuel gas into the burner tube, a burner tip mounted on the downstream end of the burner tube and adjacent a first opening in the furnace, the burner tip having a plurality of main ports substantially aligned with said longitudinal axis of the burner tube, and a plurality of peripherally arranged side ports and an peripheral tile which peripherally surrounds the burner tip, leaving at least one gap between an outer periphery of the burner tip and the peripheral tile, the at least one gap effective for providing a portion of the air for combustion wherein the quantity of fuel gas discharged during combustion from the peripherally arranged side ports does not exceed 15% of the total fuel gas combusted. Reducing the quantity of the fuel gas discharged from the side ports during burner operation is effective to reduce NOx emissions during combustion over a similar burner utilizing a conventional burner tip design.
