Abstract: A light fixture has two reflective blades that are adjustable. Adjusting the setting on the reflective blades allows for the controlling of how widely or narrowly the light will be focused from the light fixture. The reflective blades reside within the light fixture, and are positioned on either side of the lamp. The reflective blades attach to the light fixture via a fastener on two ends of the light fixture's casing, while alloblade each reflective blade to pivot along the two fasteners. The reflective blades are pivoted along the fasteners, and are held stationary through the use of a spring loaded knob that has a rounded base for embedding itself with in receptacle on the light fixture's casing.

Abstract: An optical element (1) for use in a luminaire, especially a linear luminaire, for creating a prescribed output light distribution pattern from light emitted by a light source at a predetermined location relative to the optical element (1), the optical element (1) comprising a body including a surface which comprises a faceted structure (3), the faceted structure (3) comprising one or more strips or rows (6) each comprising a plurality of primary facets (4), wherein, for any given strip or row (6) of primary facets (4): (i) each respective primary facet (4) within the given strip or row (6) is configured such that it redirects light from a respective input direction associated with that primary facet (4) into a respective output direction associated with that primary facet (4); (ii) each respective primary facet (4) within the given strip or row (6) is configured such that light propagating therefrom in a said respective output direction associated with that primary facet (4) contributes to the prescribed output light distribution pattern; and (iii) the respective primary facets (4) within the given strip or row (6) are configured such that: the distribution of the respective output directions associated with the respective primary facets (4) in the given strip or row (6) has a random or quasi-random character with respect to the positions of the respective primary facets (4) in the given strip or row (6), and the random or quasi-random character of the distribution of the respective output directions associated with the respective primary facets (4) in the given strip or row (6) is defined by a probability density function correlating with the prescribed output light distribution pattern and not with the positions of the respective primary facets (4) in the given strip or row (6).

Abstract: Disclosed is a luminaire such as an LED downlight which is suitable for mounting in ceiling cavities of commercial environments. An example luminaire (200) comprises a light source (202) including an integral primary optic which is configured to transmit light toward a second optic (214). The second optic (214) is a lens configured to receive light from the light source (202) via the primary optic and transmit at least part of the received light toward a circular reflector (201). The circular reflector (201) is configured to direct light received from the second optic (214) away from the luminaire (204). A shape of the second optic (214) is interdependent with a shape of the circular reflector (201), and the shape of the second optic (214) and circular reflector (201) act in combination to transmit light away from the luminaire with a non-circular illuminance distribution (206).

Abstract: A lampholder and a luminaire are provided. The lampholder includes a recess, a base of which has a luminous unit installing side; and a reflecting flank, extending from the recess and having a reflecting face facing the luminous unit installing side. The luminaire includes the lampholder. With the lampholder and the luminaire, conventionally discrete lampholder and light reflecting shade are made into an integral lampholder, so that structure is more simple, and the connecting step of a light emitting shade and a lampholder is cut down. In addition, the recess configuration of the lampholder is usable for accommodating an externally arranged power supply of a luminous unit, thereby saving the storage space, and reducing the warehousing and logistics costs.
