At least one axle tube extends from a side of the housing. At least one axle is coupled to the differential gear set and extending through the at least one axle tube. A lubrication control member is coupled between the axle and the housing, the lubrication control member having at least one orifice, the orifice defining a lubrication flow path between the interior portion and the at least axle tube.

    摘要: A method of controlling a level of fluid in a main sump of a transmission includes opening an auxiliary reservoir with a first valve when fluid temperature in the main sump is at or below the predetermined temperature. The first valve is opened to increase the level of fluid in the main sump to at least a predetermined height so that transmission rotating components contact the fluid and generate splash lubrication. When the transmission is transmitting torque and the fluid is above the predetermined temperature, the level of fluid in the main sump is maintained below a predetermined height with closed first valve, such that the rotating components do not contact the fluid inside the main sump. A fluid pump alone is sufficient to lubricate the rotating components above the predetermined temperature and sufficient to lubricate the rotating components at or below the predetermined temperature only with splash lubrication.

    摘要: In an oil pump for an automatic transmission, a suction port is adapted to be connected to a first suction passage. The first suction passage is arranged in parallel with a second suction passage connected to an auxiliary pump. The first and second suction passages branch from an upstream suction passage leading to an oil strainer. A discharge outlet is adapted to be connected to a first discharge passage. An air vent hole is disposed downstream of the suction port and upstream of the discharge outlet. A communication passage is connected to the air vent hole and adapted to reach a predetermined oil level in an oil pan so as to communicate the air vent hole with inside of oil in the oil pan.

    摘要: A transmission oil sump comprises a main oil compartment, in which a suction line of an oil pump is located, and a secondary oil compartment. The secondary oil compartment is in fluid communication with the main oil compartment via an opening. To prevent the introduction of air during rapid acceleration, cornering at high speeds and/or rapid deceleration of the vehicle, a barrier closes the opening to prevent the flow of oil out of the main oil compartment into the secondary oil compartment so that the oil level, required for the oil pump in the main compartment, remains adequately high. When not closed, the opening of the secondary oil compartment is open to ensure oil flow from the secondary oil compartment to the main oil compartment. The secondary oil compartments is arranged so as to collect oil that leaks from transmission components.

    摘要: The invention relates to a clutch transmission and a method of operating the same. The clutch transmission has a transmission element that is accommodated in a transmission chamber, a clutch element accommodated in a clutch chamber, and a hydraulic controller comprising an oil pump. The purpose is to provide pressures and volume flows in the clutch transmission, in which, in order to cool the clutch element, the oil pump sucks in oil and pumps it into the clutch chamber. In order to reduce churning losses in the transmission chamber to prevent air from being sucked in by the oil pump, an intake chamber is operatively connected to an oil outlet of the clutch chamber in order to receive the oil that leaves the clutch chamber.
