Abstract: The device (10) is associated to a multidisk clutch (1) for motor vehicles, and allows the automatic disengagement thereof in the deceleration and/or braking initial phase, before that the driver operates the clutch lever (1) for downshifting. The device (10) includes a ramped plate (11) connected to the transmission, which features front cam profiles (110) adapted to actuate oscillating rocker arms (13), arranged inside a drum (5) provided in the clutch (1), when a back torque is generated by the drive wheel of the vehicle, during the deceleration and/or braking step. The rocker arms (13) rotate simultaneously from an inoperative position (N) to an operative position (H), causing the pusher plate (9) to move away with a reduction of the pressure exerted on the sets of friction rings (4, 7), which, therefore, can slip with respect to one another. This avoids abnormal blockages of the rear wheel and improves the drivability and curving of the motor vehicle.

Abstract: A torque distribution control system comprises a torsion unit for detecting traction on wheels of a primary driving axle that is continuously engaged with a drive source or a source of torque power. The amount of traction detected is converted to a signal with variable signal strength, the signal strength correlating to the amount of traction detected by the torsion unit. The signal strength capable of being adjusted automatically based on select parameters and/or manually based on a driver's input. And, in response to the signal, actuators engage and control operations of the vehicle such as the drive source, a braking system, and/or an axle clutch, with the level of engagement dependent upon the signal strength.

Abstract: Technology is provided for a torque limiting clutch for use with a robot arm. The torque limiting clutch includes a hub including a hub flange and a clamp plate slideably mounted on the hub. A drive member is rotatably mounted on the hub between the hub flange and the clamp plate. The drive member includes a plurality of gear teeth disposed around an annular clutch disc. A first friction disc is positioned between the hub flange and the annular clutch disc, and a second friction disc is positioned between the clamp plate and the annular clutch disc. A plurality of clamp fasteners extend through the hub flange and engage the clamp plate to exert a clamping force operative to urge the clamp plate toward the hub flange, thereby pressing the friction discs against the annular clutch disc in order to transfer torque between the gear teeth and the hub.

Abstract: A clutch comprises an input shaft, an output shaft and a biasing member. The biasing member is arranged to provide a biasing force that allows torque transfer from the input shaft to the output shaft via one or more input friction plates and one or more output friction plates. Rotation of the output shaft may cause the biasing force to vary to adjust the maximum torque setting of the clutch during reeling-in or reeling-out of a winch cable around a winch drum. A retainer may be included in the clutch which retains the biasing member in operative connection with the output shaft and translates axially relative to the input shaft upon rotation of the output shaft. The axial translation may cause the biasing force to vary by varying the compression of the biasing member.
