    摘要: A coupling device system for use in a motor vehicle is provided including a coupling device and a memory chip. The coupling device has an input member, an output member, and at least one modulating clutch assembly selectively coupling the input member to the output member. The modulating clutch assembly includes an electrical clutch operator and clutch plates. The clutch plates include at least one first clutch plate coupled to the input member and at least one second clutch plate coupled to the output member. The second clutch plate is disposed adjacent the first clutch plate. The memory chip is integrated with the coupling device and is configured to store data related to a measured characteristic of the coupling device. The memory chip is also configured to communicate with a vehicle controller. A method of providing a calibration curve of the coupling device to the vehicle controller is also disclosed.

    摘要: A method of improving performance of secondary driveline clutches in motor vehicle transfer cases includes the steps of testing each manufactured transfer case to determine the clutch drive current versus torque transfer function, fitting such determined function to one of a small number of predetermined performance curves and incorporating an identification of the selected one of such predetermined performance curves in the transfer case. When the transfer case is installed in a vehicle, the curve identification is read and the transfer case control module (TCCM) adjusts its clutch drive signal in accordance with the predetermined curve to achieve known and desired torque transfer through the clutch with a given clutch drive signal.

The control unit includes logic rules that selectively disable operation of the inertia brake in response to a system operating condition during at least one mode of operation of the vehicular transmission system. The system also includes at least one input corresponding to a system operating condition and at least one output corresponding to a command to log a fault or disable operation of the inertia brake in response to the system operating condition during the at least one mode of operation. A control system and method for operating the vehicular transmission system are also disclosed.
