    摘要: A transmission includes an input member, a hydraulic pump, a hydraulic circuit, a clutch assembly for transferring torque between the input member and an output member. A mechanically-driven hydraulic pump is rotatably coupled to the input member and is fluidly connected to the hydraulic circuit. The clutch assembly includes a friction clutch pack, a clutch-apply piston, a clutch-release piston and a coned-disc spring. The clutch-release piston is fluidly coupled to a first hydraulic chamber that is fluidly coupled to the hydraulic circuit. The clutch-apply piston is fluidly coupled to a second hydraulic chamber that is selectively fluidly coupled to the hydraulic circuit. A second spring urges the clutch-apply piston and the coned-disc spring urges the clutch-release piston. When the hydraulic pump is not rotating, the clutch assembly is activated by the coned-disc spring urging the clutch-release piston.

    摘要: An integrated wheel end for a vehicle is disclosed. The integrated wheel end has a hub rotatably mounted to a bearing pack. The integrated wheel end is secured to the vehicle by fastening the bearing pack to a knuckle of the vehicle. The integral hub has a spindle portion for receiving an end portion of a drive axle, a clutch housing for receiving a locking clutch mechanism and a flange for the mounting of a brake rotor and a vehicle supporting wheel. A locking hub clutch is mounted in the clutch housing and is selectively operated to provide unity of rotation between the axle and the hub or to provide independent rotation of the axle and the hub. The clutch housing is suited for installing different clutch mechanisms including manually operated and pressure operated either by negative or positive pressure. The integrated wheel end has a sealed defined cavity and an air circuit for the introduction or withdrawal of air to operated the pressure operated clutch mechanisms. A manual override feature may be provided with the pressure operated clutch mechanisms to operate the clutch mechanisms manually in the event of air circuit failure.

    摘要: A hub clutch assembly for a vehicle which comprises a drive axle, a wheel, and a housing of a closed structure. The wheel is fixedly mounted on the housing. A clutch is movable between a connecting position where the housing and the drive axle are connected to each other, and a disconnecting position where the housing and the drive axle are disconnected from each other. An actuator is supplied with pressure to move the clutch to either the connecting position or the disconnecting position. A biasing element is provided for biasing the clutch both to the connecting and disconnecting positions. A closed chamber is defined between the housing and the actuator. A valve is provided for allowing the pressure to escape from the closed chamber to the actuator when the actuator is inoperative and for cutting off movement of the pressure when the actuator is operative.

    摘要: A clutch arrangement includes a hub connected by identical stacks of lamellae to a plate and counter-plate with friction pads which plates are urged by a pneumatic system into engagement on clutch surfaces of flanges of the other shaft. The hub has a polygonal shaped periphery of two or more rounded corners connected by concave sides and each of the plates has an aperture of the same configuration receiving the hub with a cylindrical support for receiving the end of a stack of lamellae disposed midway between each pair of corners. Thus, the plates can be easily moved axially relative to the hub but are rigidly connected to the hub for transferring rotary motion therebetween.

    摘要: This hydraulic clutch is particularly adapted for heavy duty use and is characterized by its doing away with the need for a seal at the clutch shoes and for a rotary seal, at its connection with a supply pump, by provision of an elastic bag for containing the pressurized liquid acting against the clutch shoes and by rotation of the hydraulic liquid supply reservoir and pump with the input shaft of the clutch. The clutch can therefore operate at high hydraulic pressure. This hydraulic clutch and pump assembly comprises a fixed body portion, an input shaft rotatably carried by the fixed body portion, a hydraulic liquid reservoir bodily rotatable with the input shaft, an output shaft bodily rotatable with a clutch disk mounted on it, clutch shoes rotatable with the input shaft and axially displaceable into clutching engagement with the clutch disk in response to fluid pressure applied in the elastic bag against them, a pump bodily rotatable with the input shaft, and a valve and control to selectively provide pressurized fluid operatively within the bag.

Provision is made to maintain constant tension on winch lines, to enable the transfer of loads between two fixed stations, between a ship at sea and a stationary loading dock, or between two ships at sea, which are relatively moveable, by utilizing a continuously rotating, slipping clutch, which clutch is continuously cooled by circulating a fluid media therethrough to maintain the friction elements therein at a temperature below which the friction elements would become damaged.One form of the dynamic brake mechanism is driven continuously, while operating, by a power means, such as a hydraulic motor which drives through a worm gear to rotate the body of the dynamic brake to present a new "live", moving surface for the friction element to engage, which normally can be run in either direction; however, in some instances it is to be rotated counter to the normal rotation of the element being braked.
