Abstract:
Self-adjusting bushing bearing with a shaft seal for engaging a shaft. The self-adjusting bushing bearing has a plurality of bearing segments configured to receive a shaft therein. A springy element engages an outer surface of the plurality of bearing segments and biases the plurality of bearing segments towards the shaft. A shaft seal coupled to the springy element is configured to contact the shaft when the shaft is received in the plurality of bearing segments so as to create an operable seal between the shaft and the housing.
Abstract:
A suspension module for the suspension systems of vehicles, which is easily removed and replaced in a repair mode. The suspension module comprises a suspension module, a bearing housed in the suspension module wherein the bearing is comprised of a spherical bearing in a housing, the spherical bearing being fixed in the suspension module housing by a crimp in the housing. There is a set of two adapter tubes and a retainer ring mounted on the distal end of the suspension module housing to retain the suspension module in a suspension knuckle of a vehicle suspension system. There is also disclosed a crimping tool for placing a crimp in the housing to retain the spherical bearing therein.
Abstract:
A foil segment bearing comprises a bearing backing with a through opening. A shaft is arranged in the through opening such that a gap exists between the shaft and the bearing backing. The foil segment bearing also has at least one first bearing segment and one second bearing segment with respective inner surfaces. Each of the respective inner surfaces defines a bearing surface with an adjustable circumference. The bearing segments are arranged in the bearing backing at a distance from the shaft such that a gap exists between the shaft and the bearing segments. The foil segment bearing also has a foil arrangement arranged in the gap between the inner surfaces of the bearing segments and the shaft. The foil segment bearing also has an adjustment mechanism configured to set a geometry of the gap.

Abstract:
In order to effect a seal; a porous material which comprises one side of two opposing surfaces is used to restrict and evenly distribute externally pressurized gas, liquid, steam, etc. between the two surfaces, exerting a force which is opposite the forces from pressure differences or springs trying to close the two faces together and so may create a non contact seal that is more stable and reliable than hydrodynamic seals currently in use.
Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a rotary shaft supporting structure which is capable of supporting a rotary shaft for a longer period. This rotary shaft supporting structure, which supports a rotary shaft on which a thrust collar that protrudes outwards in the radial direction is formed, has: thrust bearings which face the thrust collar, and support, using support surfaces, the thrust collar surfaces that are orthogonal to the axial direction of the rotary shaft; and support mechanisms which support the thrust bearings in the axial direction from the surface side of support surfaces at the opposite side to the thrust collar. The sides of the support mechanisms that face the end surfaces of the thrust bearings are inclined in the direction orthogonal to the direction in which the rotary shaft tilts.
Abstract:
A bearing assembly includes a support ring circumferentially surrounding a central bearing axis and a plurality of superhard bearing elements coupled to the support ring. Each of the plurality of superhard bearing elements has a base, a superhard bearing surface, and an element side surface extending between the base and the superhard bearing surface. The superhard bearing surface has a partial-ellipsoidal surface shape. A bearing apparatus includes an inner bearing assembly and an outer bearing assembly. A subterranean drilling system includes an output shaft operably coupled to a bearing apparatus.

Abstract:
A bearing assembly includes a tubular outer housing and a tubular inner mandrel. The outer housing has an exterior surface and an interior surface defining an interior bore. The inner mandrel has an exterior surface and an interior surface defining an interior mud flow channel. The inner mandrel is journaled for rotation within the interior bore of the outer housing. Pairs of diamond bearings having opposed curved bearing surfaces are disposed between the outer housing and the inner mandrel. One of each pair of opposed curved bearing surfaces being convex and being secured to one of the inner mandrel or outer housing and another of each pair of opposed curved bearing surfaces being concave and secured to another of the inner mandrel or outer housing. The opposed curved bearing surfaces accommodate limited relative misalignment and provide radial and axial support between the inner mandrel and the outer housing.
Abstract:
A Fluid turbine flow meter, including a measurement chamber, a turbine body that is displaced axially, as a function of the fluid flow rates, between a high position and a low position in the measurement chamber and having a rotation axis, a centering bearing for the rotation axis in the measurement chamber that has a longitudinal body with a longitudinal passage supporting and passed through by the rotation axis, the rotation axis pivoting by being held axially in the measurement chamber, by a first axial end stop in the high position and by a second axial end stop in the low position, the centering bearing having, in the longitudinal passage, at least two cylindrical longitudinal support centering walls for the rotation axis.
