    摘要: A reduced weight and repairable piston accumulator. The accumulator includes a load bearing metallic cylinder with removable end caps secured thereto with slip flanges for allowing repairability and for achieving the required cycle life. The cylinder serves as the surface on which the piston slides and is designed such that it sustains the axial stress induced by pressurization of the accumulator. A composite over wrapping is designed such that it sustains the stress in the hoop (radial) direction. A stress transitioning bushing can be provided for transitioning hoop stresses between the overwrap and the slip flange. When combined with the cylinder, the fibers of the composite wrap will not be placed in shear and thus will not fatigue in the same manner as some prior art designs.

A locking tube is connected to the piston and supported within the housing in an axially shiftable manner, and lockable at an end of the housing facing away from the reservoir with the aid of a locking pin.

The method includes (a) inserting an annular seal into a second bore portion of the bore so that the annular seal is positioned in contact with the first ledge, (b) inserting a piston into the bore so that the piston is located in a first bore portion of the bore as well as the second bore portion of the bore, and (c) inserting a cover having an annular rim into the bore so that (i) the annular rim is positioned in contact with the annular seal, and (ii) the annular seal is located in an annular space defined by the first ledge, the annular rim, the piston, and an internal wall of the housing structure that partially defines the second bore portion.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method for producing piston-type accumulators comprising an accumulator housing (10) and a separating piston which can be displaced in a longitudinal direction inside the accumulator housing (10) and separates two working spaces located therein. The end faces of the accumulator housing are sealed by means of one respective cover part (20). Previously known production methods are further improved due to the fact that the cover part (20) is fixed on one side (40) thereof via the free longitudinal edge (32) of the accumulator housing (10), which is displaced towards the cover part (20) in order to do so, such that a functionally and positionally secure connection of a cover part is ensured within the housing of a piston-type accumulator without using standard threaded connections.

    摘要: The diaphragm of the invention is for expansion tanks comprising a pair of shell halves and is for interposition between such shell halves to seal the joint between the shell halves and to anchor the diaphragm so as to divide the tank into a pair of chambers. The diaphragm includes a central sheet of elastomeric material terminating in a peripheral edge that includes an outer peripherally extending column integral with the central sheet and having a pair of integral flange elements and a central web element extending inwardly therefrom. Each of the flange elements is spaced from the central web element to form an annular slot therewith. The slots are dimensioned so as to releasably and sealingly receive the respective skirts of the shell halves.
