Abstract:
A pressure monitoring apparatus for a membrane compressor, with at least one pressure transducer for recording the pressure within a certain volume, with at least one nonreturn valve and with at least one shutoff valve, for blocking of the nonreturn valve, the shutoff valve and the nonreturn valve each being located in a flow path through which a medium can flow between the volume and the pressure transducer. A pressure monitoring unit delivers exact measured values and which can be economically implemented is achieved by there being at least two nonreturn valves which are located anti-parallel in respective flow paths, the first nonreturn valve blocking in the flow direction from the volume to the pressure transducer and the second nonreturn valve blocking in the flow direction from the pressure transducer to the volume, and by there being at least two shutoff valves for blocking a respective flow path.
Abstract:
A wobble plate compressor, which is adapted to vary the angularity of the wobble plate in response to the difference between the resultant reaction force exerted by the pistons on their compression strokes and the pressure in the crankcase, includes elastic means permanently biasing the wobble plate in the angularity-decreasing direction, and control valve means responsive to a signal indicative of at least one predetermined parameter to selectively connect the crankcase with a suction pressure space and a discharge pressure space for a rapid change in the pressure in the crankcase to thereby achieve control of the angularity of the wobble plate with high responsiveness.
Abstract:
A manually actuated feed pump is provided with a primer bulb to be manually actuated by an operator. The primer bulb has a pump chamber. A travel-controlled valve connects the pump chamber to a fuel line. The travel-controlled valve has a valve member that is moved by an actuation travel of the primer bulb into an open position that opens the travel-controlled valve. A first spring is operatively connected to the valve member and to the primer bulb. The primer bulb acts through the first spring on the valve member.
Abstract:
An apparatus includes a compressor for compressing fluid including a sensor capable of sensing at least one function relative to the operation of the compressor. A controller controls the compressor causing the value of said one function to be within a predetermined parameter. A computer overrides the independent response of the controller wherein the controller acts in response to the computer, the computer being separate from said controller. The computer may act as a sequencing computer or as a test computer.
Abstract:
A capacity control arrangement controlling the capacity of a variable capacity wobble plate type compressor of a car air-conditioner driven by an engine of the car employs an engine load sensor, a compressor discharge pressure sensor, a car speed sensor, a compressor crankcase chamber pressure sensor, a miscellaneous air-conditioning data sensor, and a central processing unit to calculate and adjust a duty ratio value at which a solenoid-operated capacity control valve of the compressor is electrically driven. The adjustment of the duty ratio is carried out in such a manner when the engine load exceeds a predetermined value, the solenoid-operated capacity control valve first takes a fully open position to establish the lowest compressor capacity for an adjusted short period of time, and subsequently, takes a reduced opening position to maintain the lowest compressor capacity for as long as the engine load exceeds the predetermined value.
Abstract:
A controlled, variable displacement, wobble plate compressor includes a pivotable wobble plate driven through an improved drive and support linkage including a universal joint and having its pivot point offset from the axis of the drive shaft so that at the ''''no stroke'''' position the pistons are all disposed at their top-dead-center positions. The capacity of the compressor is controlled by an improved system for varying the position of the wobble plate.
Abstract:
Systems and methods (e.g., a method for controlling and/or operating a compressor) are provided that includes the steps of monitoring a crankcase pressure of a first compressor; analyzing the monitored crankcase pressure that includes calculating an average of the crankcase pressure over a time period and comparing the average of the crankcase pressure over the time period to a nominal crankcase average pressure; identifying a condition of the first compressor based on the analysis of the monitored crankcase pressure; and adjusting operation of a second compressor to compensate for the first compressor in response to identifying the condition of the first compressor based on the analysis of the monitored crankcase pressure. (The method may be carried out automatically or otherwise by a controller.)
Abstract:
A compressor protection method and system capable of continuously establishing compressor discharge temperature set points based on actual in-service conditions and detecting damaged compressor valves for a given cylinder at each stage of compression. The method and system utilize sensors configured to monitor process property parameters (e.g. temperature and pressure) at the inlet section and outlet section of a compressor stage. The sensors generate monitored signals corresponding to the process property parameters. The method and system utilize a controller configured to receive and process these monitored signals. The controller executes a control logic that uses the monitored signals to either estimate or calculate compressor valve pressure losses for determining internal cylinder pressures, which are used to calculate compressor discharge temperature set points. The control logic compares the monitored temperature to the temperature set points and may generate a warning or normal operation signals based on results of the comparison.
Abstract:
A peristaltic pump has a sealed pumphead housing a and a pressure transducer 26 which is responsive to the pressure within the pumphead housing 8. The output 28 of the transducer 26 is processed to provide an indication of the condition of the hose 18 of the pump.
