摘要:
An apparatus for atomizing liquid fuel while mixing it with air, and varying the amount of each while maintaining a substantially constant fuel/air ratio for the intake manifold of an engine. The apparatus includes a frame (16) forming a passage (14) with a throat (44), with a second wall (56) of the passage being moveable toward and away from a stationary first wall (54) of the passage to vary the cross-section of the passage and thereby vary airflow. A fuel-carrying tube (24) has a proximal end (60) fixed to the first stationary wall and has a distal portion (62) that extends through a bore (64) in the moveable wall and with the moveable wall being slideable around the tube. The tube has at least one aperture (70) for flowing fuel into the passage, with the exposed aperture area being progressively increased as the moveable wall moves away from the stationary wall to flow a progressively increasing amount of fuel into the passage. The moveable wall is moved by a lever (134) that can be moved by the throttle of the engine.

Grooves 6 having a length larger than the diameter of shaft 2 are formed in both surfaces of throttle valve 3 between mounting screws 4 and the inner circumferential wall of throttle body 1, perpendicular to the shaft axis, to capture any excess adhesive applied to the screws and migrating outwardly therefrom.

A carburetor has a housing wherein a control drum is rotatably mounted. A section of an intake channel is formed in the carburetor. A subsection of this section is formed in the control drum. The control drum controls the free flow cross section of the intake channel. A fuel opening is connected to a fuel chamber via an unbranched fuel channel which opens into the subsection of the intake channel. A simple configuration of the carburetor is achieved by the carburetor including an electrically actuated valve which controls the flow of fuel through the fuel channel. For a method for operating an internal combustion engine with a carburetor, a temperature (T) is determined before or during the starting of the engine and that the flow of fuel through the fuel channel during the starting of the engine is controlled in dependence upon the temperature (T).

A stratified scavenging two-cycle engine (10) comprising an engine body (11), a carburetor (12) equipped with a pivotable rotary valve (22) for switching between opening and closing of a single intake path, and an insulator (13) having heat insulating performance. The rotary valve (22) of the carburetor (12) is provided with a fuel injecting nozzle opening (26) open downward. The nozzle opening (26) is provided with a guide section (26A) by which fuel from the nozzle opening (26) is guided to a position corresponding to a position upstream in a mixed gas path (27).

The invention relates to bearing support of a throttle valve shaft in the housing of an exhaust gas line in which the shaft is rotatably supported on both sides in a bearing sleeve element constructed cup-shaped. The cups themselves are retained by spring force against the housing extending correspondingly conically within these areas. In order to keep small the actuating forces necessary for the rotation of the throttle valve shaft, each bearing sleeve element is retained by itself against the housing by means of a spring supported at the housing and the securing of the shaft against any axial displacement takes place by a separate axial bearing.

An air throttle for an internal combustion engine having a shaft mounted butterfly vane mounted for rotation in the engine charge air inlet. The butterfly vane and shaft have an idle air bleed slot therethrough with a tubular idle valve mounted over said shaft for concentric rotation thereabout. With the butterfly vane closed for idle mode running, the idle valve is rotated between set limits to control idle air flow and idle speed. Upon rotation of the idle valve beyond the set limits, the butterfly is progressively opened for off-idle mode running speed control.

A device for intimately intermixing a liquid fuel, air, and preferably also a metered proportion of water, for delivery to an internal combustion engine or other fuel burning mechanism, the device including a rotor to which the fuel and water are delivered for centrifugal discharge radially outwardly in finely divided mist form, with the rotor preferably carrying a large number of minute fibers projecting radially outwardly and along which the liquids flow in a manner subdividing the liquids into minute droplets. The rate of delivery of the fuel and water is regulated in accordance with the rate of flow of air through the device, and by a control structure actuable by the air.
