    摘要: An OHC engine includes a valve operation system housed in a valve operation chamber formed between a cylinder head and a head cover joined to the cylinder head. The valve operation system includes a valve-operating cam and is cooperatively connected to an intake valve and an exhaust valve. The OHC engine also includes timing transmitting device disposed between the valve operation system and a crankshaft, the timing transmitting means including a driven wheel that rotates together with the valve-operating cam and a transmission belt that is wrapped around the driven wheel so that oil within a crankcase can accompany the transmission belt and be supplied to the valve operation chamber. The head cover is provided with an arc-form curved cover part for covering the upper part of the driven wheel. The curved cover part integrally includes above the driven wheel a plurality of oil splashing ribs that are positioned at intervals along the rotational direction of the driven wheel to project toward the side that is closer to the transmission belt, thereby allowing oil to be supplied uniformly to each section of the valve operation system.

    摘要: In an engine generating machine, a power-generating unit constructed by integration of the an engine and a generator, is housed in a case including an undercover and a pair of left and right side covers. A pair of reinforcing frames are coupled at their lower ends to the undercover and extend upwards along inner surfaces of the left and right side covers. The reinforcing frames have upper ends coupled to each other and are commonly fastened to a carrying handle. A fuel tank is supported inside the reinforcing frames, and a fuel pump and a fuel cock are mounted on the reinforcing frames. Thus, the maintenance of a fuel supply system for the engine can be facilitated, and the fuel tank can be protected while avoiding an increase in weight.

    摘要: A portable generator comprises a shroud for covering at least a crankcase and a cylinder block of an engine thereof. The shroud is formed of split halves. The engine is fixed to the shroud having its upper part connected to a carrying handle of a sound insulating case. As a result, the load of the engine is applied to the carrying handle through the shroud when the portable generator is lifted up with a hand. It is thus not necessary to increase rigidity of the case, thereby enabling lightening of the case. The generator arrangement also provides an improved soundproof effect since the engine, a source of noise, is covered with the shroud and the sound insulating case.

    摘要: The throttle of an engine in an engine driven generator system operating subject to a wide and rapidly variable load, as in supplying current to a welder, is operated such that control signals are sent to a throttle actuator for adjusting the engine throttle position in response to load changes. The throttle actuator may be a solenoid pulling against a spring in accordance with the average current through the solenoid coil. In this embodiment, the processor causes pulse width modulated signals to be applied across the solenoid coil with throttle position changes being reflected in changes to the width of the pulses, such changes in the pulse width being delayed for at least the predetermined time since the last preceding adjustment to the throttle. Alternatively, the throttle actuator may be a stepper motor which is stepped by throttle position change signals from a processor which monitors engine speed and generator load to determine whether the throttle should be adjusted and, if so, in which direction and to what extent for optimum response.
