    Abstract: A reciprocating pump assembly includes a pump housing that houses a crankshaft. Pistons are mechanically connected to the crankshaft for pumping fluid through cylinders. Each cylinder has a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. The pump also has a monitoring housing connected to the reciprocating pump. Within the monitoring housing is a computer with memory. Pressure sensor assemblies sense a pressure value of a fluid within the pump, and are in electrical communication with the memory. An accelerometer positioned on the pump measures vibrations of the pump and is also in electrical communication with the memory for storage of sensed vibrations or displacements during operations. A proximity sensor in electrical communication with the memory is located within the pump housing to determine the rotational velocity of the crankshaft.

    Abstract: A power unit that can periodically determine a leakage of a compressed gas to early discover a defect, such as a crack, and a vehicle in which the power unit is used are provided. A vehicle that runs with an air engine including a gas machinery includes a control device. The control device includes an adjuster that controls an output of the gas machinery such that a target output is obtained, a pressure measuring unit that measures the pressure of the compressed gas at the piping unit of the air engine, and a determination unit that determines a leakage state of the compressed gas based on a change in pressure, which is measured by the pressure measuring unit every time the target output of the gas machinery becomes substantial zero. The control device suspends the determination of the leakage state when the target output of the gas machinery changes from substantial zero during the determination.

    Abstract: A compressed air propulsion system supplies air utilized by a pair of opposing cylinders and their associated pistons and push/pull rods to cause a pair of sprockets to rotate clockwise in a controlled manner. The two pistons are acted upon by the cycling of various valves which introduces and/or vents compressed air as directed by a computer using a downloaded program through wireless interfaces. One of the two sprockets in turn, through additional sprockets/chain/axle devices, is utilized to supply drive torque to a vehicle transmission. The other axle which is connected to the remaining sprocket and through an additional chain/sprocket/axle device operates a direct current generator which produces electricity for charging a battery.
