摘要: A power unit that can periodically determine a leakage of a compressed gas to early discover a defect, such as a crack, and a vehicle in which the power unit is used are provided. A vehicle that runs with an air engine including a gas machinery includes a control device. The control device includes an adjuster that controls an output of the gas machinery such that a target output is obtained, a pressure measuring unit that measures the pressure of the compressed gas at the piping unit of the air engine, and a determination unit that determines a leakage state of the compressed gas based on a change in pressure, which is measured by the pressure measuring unit every time the target output of the gas machinery becomes substantial zero. The control device suspends the determination of the leakage state when the target output of the gas machinery changes from substantial zero during the determination.

摘要: A vehicle includes a frame, an engine, a steering assembly, a steerable wheel, a flywheel assembly, and a controller. The frame has a front end and a rear end and defines a roll axis extending between the front end and the rear end. The engine is supported by the frame. The steering assembly is pivotally coupled with the frame and is pivotable about a steering axis. The steerable wheel is rotatably coupled with the steering assembly. The flywheel assembly comprises an inertial mass and is coupled with the frame. The inertial mass is rotatable about a flywheel axis. The controller is in communication with the flywheel assembly and is configured to facilitate rotation of the inertial mass in one of a counterclockwise direction and a clockwise direction in response to pivoting of the steering assembly in a leftward direction and a rightward direction, respectively. Methods are also provided.

摘要: In embodiments of the invention, a vehicle stabilization control unit may determine a control moment value for one or more gyroscopes coupled to a vehicle frame to exert for stabilization of the vehicle frame. A number of input axes for the flywheels of the one or more gyroscopes to precess may be increased in order to generate the determined control moment value. In some embodiments, the one or more gyroscopes are further coupled to a turntable, and increasing the number of input axes for the flywheels comprises rotating the turntable. Furthermore, in some embodiments, the one or more gyroscopes comprise at least two gyroscopes coupled inline to the vehicle frame (e.g., aligned lengthwise with respect to the front and rear wheel to spin and precess in opposite directions with respect to each other).

摘要: An energy conversion system that converts linear kinetic energy to rotational kinetic energy is disclosed. A force is applied to a coil spring, compressing the spring. The spring drives an arm forward as the spring returns to its uncompressed state. The arm, in turn, causes the driving portion of an over-running clutch to rotate forward and drive an output shaft. The linear motion of the arm being driven forward by the spring is converted to rotational kinetic energy in the output shaft. The output shaft may then be connected to an external device to drive that device.

摘要: The bicycle pedaling system includes a weighted outer disc having a bicycle chain sprocket(s) mounted on one side, the outer disc having a central bore with a plurality of ratchet teeth projecting inwardly at an angle from the interior surface of the central bore. An inner disc is coaxially mounted in the central bore, the inner disc being journaled to bicycle pedals, the inner disc having at least one pawl projecting from its periphery to selectively engage the ratchet teeth. When pedaling, the pawl engages the ratchet teeth and propels the bicycle, and when pedaling is stopped, the outer disc freely rotates about the inner disc to thereby provide continuous momentum to ease subsequent resumption of pedaling effort.

摘要: A reciprocal upward and downward pedaling bicycle structure includes a main shaft of a free wheel at a chain wheel shaft, a driving body pivotally coupled to a frame of the main shaft, a pedal crank and a support rod on the driving body, and a driving belt linked to the main shaft and the support rod. An end of the driving belt is dragged to the frame by a resilient element. By the action of the resilient element ands the rotation of the main shaft, the crank and pedal are pulled by the driving belt to provide an upward bounce and the chain wheel drives the rear wheel shaft through the main driving belt. When the pedal is stepped downward, the main shaft and the chain wheel are rotated synchronously to drive the rear wheel of the bicycle to move forward.

摘要: An exercise bicycle including a frame, an adjustable seat structure, and an adjustable handlebar structure. One example of the frame includes a front fork, a down tube connected with the front fork, a seat tube, and a bottom frame member. The down tube has a first section that extends downwardly and rearwardly from a top portion of the front fork and has a section horizontal section connected with the seat tube. The front fork, down tube, seat tube, and bottom frame member define a five sided structure. The frame also includes a rear support brace connected with the seat tube and the bottom frame member in a triangular configuration. The seat structure has a seat post that is adjustably supported in the seat tube. The seat structure also has a horizontal seat rail and a cooperating seat collar that slides back and forth on the seat rail to allow fore and aft adjustment of a seat connected with the seat collar. The handlebar structure is adjustably supported in the a head tube, which is connected to the top of the front fork, and provides a plurality of gripping positions for a user.

摘要: An exercise bicycle including a frame having a seat and handlebars, a high-inertia flywheel having a hub at a center of rotation, the flywheel being rotatably supported on the frame at the hub, and a drive train including a drive sprocket, a crank arm attached to and extending from the drive sprocket, and a pedal attached to the crank arm, the drive train being rotatably supported by the frame. The drive train also includes a slave sprocket fixed to the flywheel at the hub, with the drive and slave sprockets connected in a direct-drive relationship, the drive train driveable in a forward and rearward directions to cause the flywheel to rotate. A clutch mechanism is positioned in engagement with the slave sprocket and the hub to create a frictional engagement between the sprocket and the hub, and to establish a break-free force threshold. When the drive train is actuated in the forward direction, the slave sprocket and the hub move together, and when the drive train is actuated in the rearward direction under the influence of a force greater than the break-free force threshold, the clutch mechanism slips between the slave sprocket and the hub, allowing the slave sprocket and the flywheel to move independently of one another. The clutch mechanism including a spring tensioner whereby the break-free force may be adjusted.
