Abstract: The bicycle pedaling system includes a weighted outer disc having a bicycle chain sprocket(s) mounted on one side, the outer disc having a central bore with a plurality of ratchet teeth projecting inwardly at an angle from the interior surface of the central bore. An inner disc is coaxially mounted in the central bore, the inner disc being journaled to bicycle pedals, the inner disc having at least one pawl projecting from its periphery to selectively engage the ratchet teeth. When pedaling, the pawl engages the ratchet teeth and propels the bicycle, and when pedaling is stopped, the outer disc freely rotates about the inner disc to thereby provide continuous momentum to ease subsequent resumption of pedaling effort.
