Abstract:
A cam lock for side-by-side tongue-and-groove interlocking panels can be arranged to work easily and effectively by using a keyed cam lock that provides proper orientation and a stop when the lock is engaged. A cam lock for side-by-side tongue-and-groove interlocking panels can be arranged to be inserted on the tongue side and act against a mid-portion of the opposed panel. An insert bracket can cover with one end at least a part of an end of a panel at a corner connection between panels and with the other end it can fit into a slot in the panel to immobilize the panel in two directions, while a fastener-receiving portion of the bracket can have a V-shaped portion whose side walls can guide the fastener to pass through the bracket at a bottom of the V-shaped portion. This concept applies for wall to wall connection, wall to ceiling connection and wall to floor connection.
Abstract:
A modular panel arrangement for erecting a prefabricated room, the panel includes inner and outer planar skins, an insulated core, and an interior chamber isolated from said insulated core, wherein said interior chamber has an inlet opening and an outlet opening so that air can flow into said panel through said inlet opening, through said interior chamber and out of said panel through said outlet opening.
Abstract:
A portable modular shelter apparatus comprises a base, a roof, a plurality of wall elements, a plurality of corner elements, a photovoltaic solar collector, electrical circuit componentry and a utility panel. The base defines a storage compartment. The apparatus is configurable from a disassembled transport condition into an assembled condition, in which the base, roof, walls and corners are configured to releasably interlock to form a rigid shelter having a solar powered electricity supply circuit.
Abstract:
A structural insulated building unit is provided for constructing a building. The structural insulated building unit includes an insulating core, first and second cementitious panels, and a connecting portion. The insulating core is defined by multiple sides and opposing first and second faces. The first and second cementitious panels are coupled to the first and second faces of the insulating core. The connecting portion is provided on one of the sides of the insulating core, and aligns the structural insulated building unit with an adjacent structural insulated building unit having a complementary connecting portion when constructing a building.
Abstract:
A panel fastener (20) is disclosed having a hook and cam assembly (21). The fastener has a metallic casing 23 comprised of two sidewalls (24) formed with a boss (27′) inwardly indented from the main sidewall portion through which a cam shaft (28) is journalled. The boss (27′) is formed as a circular or annular recess or depression having an inwardly extending sidewall 51 extending inwardly from the sidewalls (24) and extending to an end portion or end wall (52) having a cylindrical terminal end or bearing surface (53). The bearing surface is located along a cylinder substantially coaxially aligned with the cam shaft and substantially normal to the plane (55) of the outer surface of the adjacent portion of the casing sidewall.
Abstract:
A construction set and method for assembling a single level Relocatable Habitat Unit (RHU) requiring a plurality of flat panels that include male (M) and female (F) lock connectors located on their respective peripheries and a frame constructed from a plurality vertical corner posts and horizontal beams. The panels are a wall panel, a ceiling panel, or a floor panel. The entire RHU can be assembled using a single, hand-operated tool to engage a selected M lock with a selected F lock in addition to other securing hardware. First the floor is established and leveled. Next, starting at a corner, the walls are erected around the floor using vertical corner posts and horizontal beams. Finally, the roof is created. The hand-operated tool is used for each task.

Abstract:
A platform system having a video module assembly. The video module assembly includes a receiving member and a first video module removably secured to the receiving member. The video module includes an array of light emitting devices, and the receiving member is configured to directly or indirectly detachably secure a second video module.
Abstract:
A panelized, reusable barrier system allowing for containment of construction areas in hospitals and other clean room environments. Panels are adjustable in height from 92″ to 120″. Panels are available in 12″, 24″, 36″ and 48″ widths. Door panels consist of a 44″ wide door mounted in a 48″ wide panel. Custom clips secure the top of the panels to suspended ceiling grid. Custom camlock fasteners fasten the panels to each other. Hinged corner posts allow for wall transitions ranging from 10° to 90°. Porting options are available to allow for HEPA filtered air discharge and for monitoring differential air pressure between the work area and the public area.
Abstract:
A method of increasing the volume of a portable building which has a tilt up roof extension and a tilt down floor extension by attaching temporary rams and brackets on the roof extension and floor extension to give favourable thrust angles and deploying the extensions. The roof extension is braced with diagonal cross braces. Thereafter the rams and brackets are removed and the perimeter of the extension is closed in with panels carried to the site inside the core of the building. When the building is to be transferred to another site, the procedure is reversed. The core of the building when collapsed is only 2.5 m wide which enables truck delivery on a highway.
