摘要: An underground water storage system filled without pumps is provided. The underground water storage system comprises a water source at a first elevation and an underground water storage facility at a second elevation, less than the first elevation. The underground water storage facility is in fluid communication with the water source by a piping and valve system. The pressure difference between the water source at the first elevation and the underground water storage facility provides the motive force to fill the underground water storage system.

摘要: According to one embodiment, a water demand optimization system includes a management terminal, a measuring apparatus, a demand information generating unit and a water-supply control apparatus. The management terminal drives customer equipment, which performs an operation using water, in a time zone in which a power unit rate is low. The measuring apparatus measures an amount of water used in a dwelling unit. The demand information generating unit generates water demand based on the amount of water. The water-supply control apparatus controls a pump in a manner to meet water demand and to minimize a treatment cost in a water purification plant and a cost for conveyance of clear water with reference to a variation in the power unit rate.

摘要: A controller (8) for a pilot valve (102) which adjusts the output pressure of a pressure reducing valve (44) supplying water to a consumer region (3). With the aim of reducing output pressure whilst still providing a minimum required pressure at a critical point (CP) in the region, the controller adjusts the output pressure in accordance with the flow rate. The controller includes a clock (22) and the relationship between the required output pressure and the measured flow rate is time dependent. Parameters which define the relationship are supplied to the controller (8) from a remote data processing system (13) which analyses flow rate and output pressure data transmitted from the controller, and also pressure data from a remote sensor (10) at the critical point. At intervals, the controller (8) establishes a wireless connection with the remote system (13), to transmit logged data, and to receive parameters covering a period of time which is greater than the interval between communication sessions.
